  1. I think there's a slender chance of us reducing the bid, but I don't think even that will be enough! I reckon also, that's why Atletico are debt stricken, because they are having to pay Aguero a huge wage every week. If we were to sign him, maybe we would have the same problem in a few years. Not likely to happen though with all the money Abramovich has!
  2. Definitely agree. I think Zhirkov had a great first season with us, and hopefully, should he get more playtime he'll only get better. It will be tough shifting Ashley Cole out of the left back position at the moment, but he's an excellent utility player to have.
  3. Yeah exactly!!! We have first refusal on him anyway, so why not make a bid for him! If Santos won't budge with Neymar then what the fuck is stopping us??
  4. Totally agree! I'd rather see Jeffrey Bruma get a chance in the team! Ever since he got called up for the Netherlands team, I've been thinking to myself, this is when we can really dwell on a top quality young player. Bruma the new Terry??
  5. are you sure about that? Where did you read about that? Can you find a source?
  6. oh give me a fucking break! "Sport Lisboa e Benfica denies the player Ramires has issued any statements to the English media, so any word or quotes from the player are inappropriate and not true." ----------------------------- Source:- Blue Tinted -----------------------------
  7. Makelele played DM for us and his shirt number was 4??
  8. Darmesh Sheth (Sky Sports News): Chelsea likely to sign Ramires in the next 7 days! Not likely to go on the German tour though! Badboy, you were right to rubbish that earlier report!! In addition.... RAMIRES PLEADS FOR CHELSEA MOVE Benfica midfielder Ramires has pleaded with the club to resolve his transfer to Chelsea and release him for his "dream move" to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea's bid of €20 million is on the table and the Brazilian star is waiting to hear whether or not it is going to be accepted. However, the player has now spoken out in the hope that his desire to move to England gets the ball rolling. "I know there has been a bid for me from Chelsea, this is a great honour, it is like a dream come true,'' he said in quotes obtained by Soccernet. "I have dreamt of playing in the Premier League and now to have the opportunity to play for the best team in the Premier League and for a club with so much history - it would be my dream. "I hope this can happen, and I hope that I can help Chelsea to regain the Double and also to win the Champions League next season "I am looking forward to playing with the likes of John Terry, Petr Cech, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba, they are amongst the best in the world, to play with players like this under a manager of the stature of Carlo Ancelotti whom I admire and respect, in a club with so much spirit and winning mentality, would be a tremendous privilege. "In the process I would like everyone to know I had a fantastic year at Benfica, and I respect them a lot, but this is a dream that I cannot let go." ----------------------------------------- Source:- Soccernet -----------------------------------------
  9. we won't go for Khedira! He clearly wants to go to Real Madrid, so there's not much we can do to convince him to think otherwise I do wish I had as much belief in that statement as you! Although so far, only just the one report in the last 4 hours has been leaked so far, it's not as if the report is worldwide at the moment.
  10. Benfica have reportedly convinced Brazil midfielder Ramires to stay for one more season before he completes a big-money move to Chelsea. Ramires has attracted interest from a number of European clubs and has strongly been linked with an imminent switch to West London. However, reports in Thursday's Portuguese press claim the 23-year-old has accepted an improved deal in Lisbon and will therefore delay his move to England until next summer. Tabloid A BOLA says: "The subject is very advanced and the footballer (Ramires) has agreed a significant increase in salary and in others conditions." Benfica club president Luis Filipe Vieira has allegedly held a meeting with Ramires with the Brazil international "willing to accept the contract extension". ----------------------------------------- Source:- TeamTalk ----------------------------------------- FUCK SAKE!!!! Are we ACTUALLY going to sign ANYONE other than Benayoun???
  11. CHELSEA want to wrap up the £17m signing of Benfica star Ramires in time for their pre-season tour of Germany. Carlo Ancelotti’s squad fly out on Saturday and the Blues boss wants the Brazil midfielder on the trip. But the Portuguese club are playing hardball and Chelsea may be forced to wait until next week to complete the transfer. -------------------------- Source:- The Daily Star -------------------------- Come on Chelsea!! GET THIS DEAL DONE!!!!!
  12. So I guess getting Neymar on the strength of that is out of the question.... ... now is the time to get Aguero!
  13. really pleased he's been called up! His appearance on the international stage will only make him a better player!
  14. + 1 I actually like the idea of Ramires and Essien in the same midfield. Although the similarity of their style could scupper their performance, look at what happened when Lampard and Ballack played in the same side, or in the early England days when Lampard and Gerrard tried to gel as a midfield pairing...
  15. At £33 million, it's just not worth signing him. I'd rather see us giving Hutchinson and Bruma a chance in the squad
  16. just be glad we don't have the problem Citeh have! They have no choice but to cut away 7 of their players.... I heard "Team Bridge" will be joining 'Dough Cole' at Liverpool soon!
  17. Anyone who is young and a decent player to have has my backing! After all, we do need proper young players who we are going to get the best out of for a few years at least. Especially when we've lost the likes of Joe Cole, Ballack and Deco (pretty much), you would expect someone to come in as a replacement who has just as good quality.
  18. True I suppose, but it means yet another English player walking out the Chelsea door!
  19. Definitely agree! Promoting Bruma would be a better and much more cheaper option than splash out millions on an unproven player.
