  1. ... or a left-sided winger! I think that's what he was referring to!
  2. Ramires for a DM is ten times quicker than Mikel, and he attacks more, which is just what we need, and you wouldn't be concerned about him not getting back because with Essien in the same side, he would be the defensive cover. and £16 million for a keeper? seriously? That's a bit pricey for a keeper who won't be guaranteed to play in every game during the season.
  3. Vital Chelsea reports Jack Cork is in talks with Swansea City LINK I don't like the idea of this!
  4. It's not a thought of "we should be looking at promoting youngsters" we need to of course the new homegrown rule is coming into play now, which will allow younger players to get their chance (like you clearly state). the fact of the matter is, we're nowhere near safe when it comes to that rule. We only have 4 reasonable players under the age of 21 and rest (19 I would recall) are over 21 and foreign, so Ancelotti has a tough decision to make, as to who is going to make the 25-man squad come september 1st!
  5. I hope we sign at least three more players before the window closes, but I don't think Aguero will be either of those thee players. Ramires (if we can avoid the scheme of Kia Joorabchian), David Luiz, and Neymar
  6. of course he is, that's why I prefer Aguero over Torres, but for some reason Ancelotti doesn't want him.
  7. Yeah exactly, we could get another transfer ban, or a massive fine! I mean, we went through all that pain last time, we don't want it to happen again!
  8. This Kia Joorabchian is a sneaky bastard isn't he??
  9. Chelsea hope to secure the capture of Benfica's Brazil midfielder Ramires this week, when he returns to Lisbon from his post-World Cup break. Ramires will discuss the proposed transfer with Benfica's directors and he is expected to move to west London for €20m (£16.8m). The Portuguese club would also be entitled to performance-related bonuses. The deal has not yet been concluded and Benfica would like to discuss Chelsea including players in part-exchange. But, having added only the midfielder Yossi Benayoun so far this summer, the Chelsea manager, Carlo Ancelotti, is close to broadening his options. Ancelotti has seen the midfielders Joe Cole and Michael Ballack leave the club as free agents and another midfielder, Deco, is expected to return to his native Brazil, so that he might spend more time with his seriously ill young son. Chelsea have also released the defender Juliano Belletti. Ramires, 23, is a competitive and durable midfielder – he is rarely injured – and he would appear well suited to the Premier League. If Benfica were to sell him, it would suit them to close the deal quickly, so that they could sign a replacement. The businessman Kia Joorabchian has a 50% stake in the player. ----------------------------------------- Source:- The Guardian -----------------------------------------
  10. I honestly think this is an insult to the fans. It's good enough that they make money for merchandise and food, now they're charging to actually attend?? Whether we have to pay or not, I will still go to it, but I wonder to myself if it will be worth it. Whether or not it will be worth £5 just for the players to come up to the touchlines and sign shirts, tickets, footballs etc. Last year they didn't do that, and everyone was really disappointed. I don't think charging fans to get in is going to make things better, it'll make it worse, and the turnout will be a lot less.
  11. oh yeah of course he is, my mistake... but Sam Hutchinson is another player who can play at centreback, but also plays at right back as well
  12. - That is actually rather interesting to point out. As you correctly say, JT only works well when he works alongside a quick pacy centreback, which is why sometimes, when he plays alongside Alex, who isn't the quickest defender in the Premier League, he struggles. If Luiz is coming in as a direct replacement for Carvalho then that's not a bad investment. - Mancienne wants to leave, so that might not even happen, but we do have Bruma and van Aanholt as under-studies. Maybe that's why he wants to move out, because he's had to go on loan so many times with different clubs, and now there are other youngsters pushing him out of a queue to get a place. It's disappointing to know that Mancienne wants to leave because of that sole reason.
  13. looks like yet another striker is about to join rich Manchester City
  14. Samsung Soul at the moment... soon to be an iPhone 4
  15. It's alright saying "we have enough goalkeepers so we don't need to buy one", But aren't most of you the least bit concerned that despite Petr Cech being the out-and-out best keeper we have at the club (who is currently injured for a month), do we have a keeper that even competes with Petr Cech?? Because I don't believe neither Hilario or Ross Turnbull are good enough to be honest. I honestly believe that Cudicini on a good day, is ten times better than the two put together, but he's at Tottenham now! I read in an article today that a meber of the TEAMTalk website believes that Hilaro and Turnbull could cost us this season, and we should hijack Celtic's bid to sign David James on a free transfer (See Article). I watched Tunbull against Ajax the other day, and he was awful. He was responsible for both goals in the first half because of his poor decision making, and although Hilario did better than Turnbull in the second half, I believe he's still prone to the odd mistake, just cast your mind back to the home defeat against Man City last season, and how Craig Bellamy seemingly managed to squeeze the ball in the goal. Of course, we have the young Croatian keeper that we've signed, Matej Delac, but I think he's still very young, and I don't think he's ready for the big stage just yet. So one question I'd like to ask is... should we be bringing in a goalkeeper to challenge Petr Cech this season. Discuss...
  16. that's what makes this rumor ridiculous to be honest. There's going to be a report tomorrow that says Carlo wants Sergio Ramos.
  17. I just saw this... One red-top certainly thinks so promoting Carlo`s apparent interest in the Dutch full back Gregory Van der Wiel! It points out that his proposed move to Bayern Munich has broken down and that the 22 year old could be bound for SW6. -------------------------------- Source:- Vital Football - Chelsea --------------------------------
  18. This is very interesting indeed! Of course the big question is... knowing of his injury, are we going to go in for him? Or are we just going to bid for Neymar?
  19. Chelsea and Manchester City are fighting a two-way battle to sign £25 million-rated Benfica defender David Luiz. According to the Daily Star, Blues manager Carlo Ancelotti is planning to make a double swoop from the Portuguese club, as the Italian is close to signing Brazil international Ramires for £17m next week. In addition, Ancelotti is also planning to sign Luiz, who impressed in Benfica’s Europa League defeat against Liverpool last season. The 23-year-old defender is now Chelsea’s main target with Alex suffering from a thigh injury and the club being concerned over the long-term fitness of John Terry. However, City are also in the mix for the Brazilian and have the money to outbid Chelsea for the star defender. Ancelotti has not added a big signing to his Double-winning squad this summer and has seen Michael Ballack, Joe Cole and Juliano Belletti leave the club this summer. ---------------------------------------- Source:- goal.com --------------------------------------- Can I ask two things.... 1) why are City even going in for David Luiz when their main concern is reducing their 37-man squad to 25?? 2) Do we really need this guy? And at £27 million?? We have Ivanovic, (who is comfortable at right back AND centre back) and of course Bosingwa, who will be coming back from injury soon?
  20. Reports suggest we're releasing him from his contract that's worth £5 million... we're supposed to get that sort of money for him not lose it!!
