Yeah exactly, especially in the game at home to United. He did more in 15 minutes than Malouda managed in the rest of the game. The thing is with Zhirkov, is that he's blabbering on about wanting to leave if he doesn't get played enough, when he should be training harder to fight for a place. If Malouda is playing in his position week in, week out, and he's sitting on the bench, then surely he'll want to train extra hard and impress Carlo enough to give him a place in the team. That's the idea of competition at the end of the day. That's what you want within a squad so that they can perform well with the other players.

Definitely agree. I think Josh needs to start in a game like this to increase his performance levels. I think he's able to tackle the ball really well, and get play going in attack. As for Malouda and Zhirkov. It's a gamble, but I guess it won't hurt to try it out and see the outcome. After all, like Alex said, we need to rest a host of our important players for the City game at the weekend because that will definitely be a difficult game for us.
