  1. I'm not watching West Ham any more, it's depressing. Not only did we fail to get Dimi Payet, we will never get him. Every top club in the league, not to mention many on the continent, will have set their sights on him and we won't win that fight. Assuming we even got in the ring that is.
  2. In reality we know that that is what happened but legally speaking he was not sacked. Legally he left by mutual consent and what Jose is, or is not, able to do now will have been agreed when he departed.
  3. Man I hope you're right. With City currently losing things aren't looking too good at the top if we get beat. On the other hand a couple of quick goals for City tonight and a Blues win tomorrow puts everything it a much better light.

  5. I can't argue with that since I haven't seen enough of Teixeira to form a strong opinion about his chances. I just think he looks a better player, from a technique point of view, than Juan. Whether that might make him a good contributor for Chelsea I can't say but it must make it at least possible that he'd do better than our Columbian winger. Payet is the player I'd like to sign but I would not say no to buying him and Mahrez. Of course, baring the existence of buy-out clauses, no one at Chelsea is going to get the chance to say no to either of those deals because West Ham and Leicester will do it for them.
  6. It isn't the be all and end all I know but, Teixeria is a far more technically able player than Cuadrao. Whatever he might turn into, I don't think it would be Juan #2.
  7. Chelsea are continuing their pursuit of a sixth FA Youth Cup Final appearance in seven years and, hopefully, a fifth win in that period. Our under 18s are currently playing away to Manchester United in a fourth round tie. We lead 1-0 through a headed goal from Ike Ugbo. Ike nodded home after the keeper had just managed to keep out the original headed effort from Tammy Abraham. Brilliant run and cross from Jay Dasilva set the goal up. 7:52pm Now 0-2. Brilliant take turn and finish from Tammy Abraham. The lads deserve to be more than 2 up. They've been good. In fact I've never seen Kyle Scott play better and Charlie Wakefield is on top of his game too. Many other good performances which could also be mentioned. Half-time. 9:00pm 1-5 United briefly and undeservedly pulled it back to 1-2, but an immediate third from Mason Mount, a beautiful chipped fourth from the outstanding Jay Dasilva and a tap in from Mukhtar Ali have made the score a more accurate reflection of the game. We've been miles better than them. Full time. AFC Wimbledon away in the 5th round. If they play it at Kingstonian I'll be there.
  8. He's been pretty ordinary when I've seen him. So much so that I stopped watching.
  9. Not many of the top clubs want him I'd wager. We don't have long to wait to see if we do.
  10. Everything you say is completely valid of course but according to a retweet on ChelseaTransfer the agent has just said that despite working on getting a deal, Corinthians have yet to receive an offer. Again, I accept that the lack of an offer does not mean there have been no discussions but it does give hope to those of us who don't want Pato. I'm looking forward to confirmation that no offer yet has become there will be no offer from Chelsea.
  11. The post I'm replying to should be pinned so that it appears at the top of every page in this topic. I have nothing against Patrick and I bet Tomo hasn't either but it is discouraging that things went wrong for him at the level which is closest to the one he wants to reach. As far as can be told from his interviews, on pitch demeanour, and reported comments, Patrick is a really good bloke who deserves much success at Chelsea. I do want to acknowledge something however. Having seen Patrick play in development games a few years back I wrote him off as not good enough for Chelsea level. Since then he has been doing better at each loan club, except Palace, than I really expected him to. I'm sure Patrick will keep fighting for a top level career and it must be said that his first goal vs QPR's 21s the other day was a magnificent strike. Very, very high class indeed. He knows, everyone reading this knows and I know, that there is more to making it than being capable of a finish like that but it can't do any harm. Although I remain a non-believer I wish Patrick well.
  12. It only becomes an issue if the player on loan is not the better option for the team. When he is the better option, he gets selected. In fact clubs who find that a player on loan is good for them often then try to sign him on a permanent basis. Footballers who fail to get selected while on loan fail for the same reason they fail at their parent clubs; they have not convinced the manager that the are good enough. No more complicated explanation is necessary. P.S. I edited this post in an effort to make my point more clearly. I think @blues.bridge liked the post before that edit. It may be that in the updated form, he'd want to take it back. Apologies to b.b if that's so.
  13. Hello Jay, Honest question; which other players spring to mind who are examples of this? I can't name any off the top of my head but then I'm not trying too hard since I take the opposite view to yours on this issue. My take is that Kane got chances to play at Spurs because he earned them. Eventually he took one of those chances and showed that he could contribute. He was able to do both of those things because he is good enough but how many of our lads have shown that they are good enough to earn, and then to take, their opportunity too? On the face of it the answer is none since, none of them have made significant progrees under any of our managers. I can guess that your explanation for this is very different to the one I'd give.
  14. Could you please give a health warning on any posts that have nice things to say about that lot. It takes me days to recover from reading stuff like this.
  15. That first goal was a top class finish. Must have felt good for the lad.
  16. No. It's simply that that grossly inaccurate claim is all I wanted to comment on.
  17. !!! Our conversation is going around in circles now so I'll dip out here.
  18. Exactly. Given Brana's form and the team's results it is obvious that both managers would choose the alternative if given the slightest encouragement and i do mean the slightest. Many are reluctant to accept this statement of the obvious but, it is a very sound guess to think that Baba has not offered even so small a level of encouragement.
  19. A decision with which Guss clearly concurs. You don't agree with the decision but it is not based on bias. We must remember that Jose did, and Guss does, see Baba playing everyday.
  20. Yes he has all the technical gifts but his decisions are still poor. When he's on it he's out of this world as vs Barca U20s a couple of seasons ago for example. He also had a brilliant, brilliant game* in the final stages of last season's UEFA Youth League, but in the main his displays are just a big disappointment. *Actually half a game is nearer the truth.
  21. Jose has a bias in favour of the players he thinks are best able to contribute good performances for his team.
  22. Oh dear I must look a bit like a stalker right now but... No he really isn't. Jed's talent is huge but he is not yet putting it all together. Currently his game adds up to less than the sum of its parts. Much less.
