  1. The worst thing is that our Belgian players actually have the talent to assume such arrogant attitude towards the club. Courtois, for example, is already regarded as one of the greatest keepers in the world and he is just 21. If he continues to develop and improve, he has the potential to become one of the greatest of all time. So we have little choice but to put up with this type of shit.
  2. It's simply unrealistic that Mourinho would mock United like that at the expense of the player, while involving the entire Chelsea board in it. There's just no way. If things have gotten this far, it's because we're serious about this. If, however, a club like PSG made a last-minute bid and Chelsea accepted theirs instead, now that's something I could see happening!
  3. You need to be dealing with gentlemen in order to get a "gentleman's agreement". The scoundrels will sell him to PSG the first bid they get.
  4. You're saying that in hindsight. At that time the average Barcelona fan didn't agree with that one bit. Also, the "apples and oranges" part tells me you didn't even bother to read my post entirely.
  5. Telegraph, the newspaper that originally reported Mata was heading for United, is saying the decision to sell Mata to them wasn't a Mourinho idea. Instead, the Chelsea board welcomed the high bid and Mourinho simply placed no objection. This is somewhat good news because if this gamble comes back to bite us in the ass, even though some fans will be quick to point fingers at the manager, internally, the club will know it was a collective mistake. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/10590820/Juan-Matas-37million-transfer-to-Manchester-United-accepted-by-Chelsea.html
  6. http://www.lasexta.com/noticias/deportes/courtois-quiero-jugar-sea-chelsea-otro-lado_2014012100358.html Courtois: "I'm not afraid of competing against anyone but I also don't feel like going to a club and then don't play. I want to play, this is what I want, I want to play and if it's not in Chelsea then it will be at another club." He went on to say, in a politically correct and indirect manner, that his manager will speak to Chelsea and ask for a decision. What he meant was, in my opinion, very clear: "take me now as number 1 keeper or sell me".
  7. The joke will be on them again if after spending 37m on Mata, they continue to under preform (considering they never needed an attacking mid fielder in the first place) and at the end of the season, they are left without Rooney/possibly other key players AND they have no money to spend because their budged was dried with Fellaini and Mata.
  8. AND I SWEAR some lame fan boys here would reject a 60 million City bid for Hazard even if Hazard stopped being a first team regular because the team seems to play better without him.
  9. I predict tomorrow when Manchester United announce Mata, there will be a lot of turmoil in this thread. Before that happens, I will say this: when Guardiola was first announced manager of Barcelona, he sent the entire club's fan base into a frenzy when he declared Deco, Etoo, and Ronaldinho's time was over at the club and they weren't part of his plans. Those were still the 3 best players of Barcelona and everyone thought the manager had gone mad. It turned out that such a bold and defiant move eventually opened room for other less known players of the squad by the names of Xavi, Iniesta and Messi to come into light. Even though this is a completely different situation, my point is that some managers know exactly what they're doing. Personally I will wait and see.
  10. Guys, like it or not, Mata today is a bench warmer for Chelsea. Such situation is both horrible for such an amazing player and also for the club. It's normal that a part of all of us feels a sense of waste but let's be honest here, Mata was given a few chances this season and every single time he came on, he proved that the manager was right and the way we're playing now is simply not one that he can fit in. To insist on the adaptation of Mata to the way we're playing now is like insisting for a fish to climb a tree. Even if he somehow adapted, he just wouldn't be himself as a player anymore. That said, the question we must ask ourselves first is, has it been worth it changing the way the team plays even if that means sacrificing Mata's quality? And so far there is no denying the team looks much stronger than what it did before. This means no matter how good Mata is, it's an unshakable fact that he simply has no future in our Chelsea club... Which brings us to our next question. Who do we sell him to? Certainly, selling such a player to a rival club like United in the middle of the season can only be classified as a gamble. There is no point in arguing such move because it is literally a gamble. On one hand, we could be getting 40 million out of a desperate United knowing that they will still be a mess because Mata is NOT the player they need, knowing that Moyes will still be a flop, knowing that this will only increase pressure on them and their manager, knowing that Mata will help them take points from our rivals, knowing that we could potentially be getting Rooney in the summer because of this. OR this could mean waking up a sleeping giant and helping United survive its huge crisis and come back to haunt us for seasons to come. There is no way we can tell what will happen, except that this will either be one of the smartest cards ever played in the history of the EPL away from the field or one of the stupidest things for which we will be mocked for a lot of time. The only thing certain is that this is going to be one hell of a season.
  11. Actually, that would sound reasonable if you were getting 40 million for that divorce and in the end you would still get to bang Mag... wait what are we even talking about??
  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFXXov4XWyQ The fuckers are now 100% sure they're getting Mata. How wonderful would it be if Chelsea led them on until the last minute and then sold to PSG? Moyes would probably hang himself.
  13. Speaking about his relationship with Abramovich last year, Mourinho said they remained friends after his departure and he speaked with him regularly to give him advice on transfers. So it's not surprising.
  14. Mata is a great player but let's not exaggerate here. He is not the best 10 in the world. Not even close. In fact, Oscar has been doing a pretty good job replacing him. I'm loving all of this hype though. So far we have seen reports of PSG supposedly preparing a bid of 45 million for Mata and I have also read in the Portuguese media that Atletico Madrid is prepared to jump in with Diego Costa + Filipe Luís for Mata, etc. The greatest thing about these transfer turmoils is that they always cause players to be over evaluated. We've seen this happening last year with Ozil's 42 million transfer to Arsenal. He was a key player to Real Madrid and everyone went mad when they sold him to Arsenal. Fast forward a few months and everyone agrees that indeed Real Madrid didn't need him anymore, and indeed he was NOT worth 42m.
  15. What are you even talking about? He said Mata doesn't fit the system and he needs to adapt, and by adapt, that means CHANGE as a player, in order to be a part of the team again. Nobody said he wants Mata gone but the fact is that the Mata we know does not fit our current style of play. That is NOT a "forum myth". It's the truth.
  16. What is this "forum myth" you keep talking about?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjnW1814hPo That's the fucking manager right there telling you Mata DOESN'T fit the fucking system. " I always say this, there are fantastic players but sometimes the fantastic players are more fantastic to a certain system and less fantastic in a certain way of playing. " Do you want me to translate that to Croatian?
  17. I have NO doubts Rooney would want to come to Chelsea. The only thing keeping this from happening besides United's resistance to sell him to us is the taboo of joining your club's direct rival. But if Chelsea was to sell Mata to United, it would certainly break the ice and make things much more smooth.
  18. - Disagrees that Mata doesn't fit our system. - Claims system should change to fit Mata's abilities. You seem confused there mate.
  19. Seeing as they seem to have a dude called Cavani who is apparently unhappy at the club and Chelsea is still hungry for a world class striker, it wouldn't be a bad idea.
  20. Well that was fast http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-united-deny-juan-mata-3042608#.Ut2su9JFDIU
  21. Mata will give them the margin they need to sign a quality CM. By signing Mata, they will be able to deal Kagawa + $$$ for Gundogan.
  22. Apparently, a potential transfer of Mata to United is being extensively speculated by several media outlets. There is no smoke without fire guys. And this type of buzz is always typical before a big transfer. This could actually happen!! And the fact that it's reached this stage means that the board is at least thinking about it... This is gonna be a long week.
  23. Yes!! You are right. I forgot another advantage of this deal: - Strengthening United will mean Moyes will stay for more seasons to come!
  24. I don't believe Mou would sell them Mata. However, the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced this could actually happen and it could be a genius move by Mourinho. Hear me out guys: First of all, from a strategic point of view, Mourinho has already stated he believes Manchester United are out of the title race, PLUS we won't be facing Mata + United again this season (seeing as Mata is cup-tied for the Champions League and we already played them twice in the EPL). So strengthening United with Mata would ONLY cause damage to our title rivals seeing as United still has to play Arsenal, Liverpool AND City. Add to that the fact that Chelsea has to deal with its financial loss, Mata will want to be at a club where he can get minutes in order to be at the world cup and the fact that such deal could potentially make room for Rooney in the summer. On top of all of that, we would be getting 37 million for a player that has fallen to the category of bench warmer for Chelsea. This deal makes so much sense in sooo many ways. I'm somewhat afraid to say this but,... I... hope the deal goes through. Still love you Juan, I'm sorry.
