Besides the 'brainfart' in the first 20 seconds we have played pretty well. Southampton are a ridiculously organised side and deserve a lot of credit. I just hope we can knick one early second half. Nervous for this one. We are so Jekyll and Hyde (like a lot of other teams) it's a mad mad season. I am hoping for a nice comfortable 2-0 win. Want Mata to at least get on and would be delighted if Lamps is given a rest (NOT get injured like some have requested). A win here would give us much needed momentum for the hectic festive period. If Chelsea are looking to get me an early Christmas gift, then 3 points sounds amazing. You don't even need to wrap it and you wouldn't need to keep the receipt! COME ON YOU BLUES!!!!

Disappointed. We NEED consistency and we are not getting it. We qualify though so that's the silver lining! Thoughts on the game: -Oscar should have been rested for Mata. I know I'm biased seeing as he's my favourite player, but I don't understand him not playing, to the point of utter frustration, let alone not getting on when we needed a spark, some creativity. Weird. Very weird. - Ramires was pretty shoddy but looked absolutely shattered. For all his performances this season so far we can allow him this one I'm sure! - Torres looked pretty sharp when he came on, feel bad for Eto'o. - We have depth but we didn't use it, the team looked and played like they had serious fatigue. I'm not one to blindly follow Jose's decisions and I'm not one to flip flop between love and hate either but he got it wrong tonight. - Basel deserve the victory. I really enjoy Salah. He is a cracking little player and deserved his goal. Ugh. Anyway, that's over, it was a long 90mins waiting for an inevitable Basel goal. Now hopefully we can regroup for a very tough test on Sunday. Come on Chelsea! PS. Play Mata. It's making me sad seeing him on the bench.

Great finish for the second, I felt strangely confident when he was through! - Great to see Demba score, before the inevitable sale in January it's nice to see him get a Champs League goal! - Willian is a beast of a sprinter. Also, he hates Tottenham. - Renewed momentum. Let's carry this on for saturdays game! Watch out West Brom keeper, Eto'o is on the prowl!! Come on you blues!!

Cahill has been very solid. His distribution has improved vastly. Keep mistaking him for JT which is praise indeed!
