He's dirty and snide. Stamped on Noble in the West Ham game the other week as well. Always goes unpunished. I don't know where his 'angelic' reputation comes from.

Of Atletico's last 15 goals before this weekend 10 came from set-pieces, so while Koke only has 4 direct assists he must have managed a lot of the 'assist before the assist' type from set pieces. He has had some dangerous ones but when you get the number of corners we do that's inevitable. Too often his corners are too close to the keeper though imo. There was a lot of attention on the corners against United because of their small team and his poor crosses meant we couldn't take advantage in the first half, although we did in the end to be fair to him. It's not a big deal because it's not his speciality and he assists lots from open play but it's just a bit annoying that none of our midfielders are particularly great at them.

Rojo didn't touch the ball. Definite pen + red
-
That's actually quite a good return considering he's not exactly a set-piece specialist (a la Kroos/Koke) but I think it's expected given the number of players we have capable of scoring from headers and the number of corners we usually get. His delivery isn't great imo but it's better than the shocking Willian/Oscar/Hazard corners.
-
True. Most of Cesc's assists have been from open play but he should be looking to get a lot more from set pieces since we have such a big aerial threat. Like all our other AMs though his delivery is generally poor/average.
-
It did. He was on 7 assists before the United game.
-
Ivanovic has been doing really badly all season from a defensive point of view.
-
Also most assists in the league last year was 14 (Gerrard). Fabregas already has 9.
-
Yep next Saturday. Watch them raise their game against us after being completely **** all season.
-
Not yet we don't. We've got Maribor and Liverpool to play next week
-
I don't really like singing songs for individual players either as it's unfair on the others (eg Willian song being sung when he's not even playing). Think the fans should just sing about Chelsea.
-
Thought that too. Must be the new boots!
-
lol true - Palace, United and now QPR. It's cursed.
-
in all seriousness though that game had all the makings for a great atmosphere - London derby against a big team, tackles flying all over the place, Wenger shoving Jose - yet it was pretty subdued for most parts.
-
Biased much? It's good but not great. Against Arsenal it was pretty much silent between the first and second goals.
-
Probably because he has the license to do whatever he wants for some reason (without ever being criticsed/dropped). Even Hazard has more defensive duties than him!
-
Yup it's very difficult to play a high-intensity pressing game with a flat atmosphere.
-
He's right. I think hearing the 'Sit down Mourinho' chant pisses him off especially. You get it away but home fans should always drown it out. Plus the pressing game we were playing today becomes much easier when the home support is really loud (which is partly why Atletico excel at it).

Runs all the way back with the QPR player who takes the shot but decides to walk away and leave him completely unmarked on the edge of the box... http://zippy.gfycat.com/AlarmingMediumAmericancicada.webm

Great finish and off-the-ball work but he was very sloppy in possession.
-
Yeah I think (hope) he's trolling or the wind is some kind of metaphor for Phil Dowd because that excuse is atrocious otherwise.

How about against 10-man City? And it's inevitably going to cost us in the CL if Jose really thinks it's not a problem.
-
I wouldn't say we're nowhere near complete. We've addressed most of our weaknesses but our overwhelming favourite status probably says more about the league than anything else. Only City are serious title rivals. Funny how Jose said we'd win the league in any other country - we have a much greater chance here than in La Liga!
-
Oh until 2015, misread that. Yeah it will probably be Stoke or Newcastle.
-
Particularly in the semifinals of the CL. If he went for it a bit more I think it's very likely he'd have at least 3 CLs by now, if not more.
