Because buying buying buying while we have suitable options in our disposal bears no reason. Messed up his chance? He was quality on his debut and got us past United and tormented City. He's terrific at finding space and hasn't had a full season for us to even declare full judgement. Patience that is missing with a fans clarity spews glory hunting plastic mentality. Oh, and Judging a player in preaseason.... Unbelievable. Take a good hard look at yourself

Caps lock won't make your point any more factual. Why should we get rid of Ba when he's hasn't had a chance to prove himself or have a good run of games? He's scored against the Manchester clubs, he's someone decent to count on as a rotation
-
Why should we get rid of Ba when he hasn't had a full season to prove himself? He's already proved to score against top clubs, why can't we give him a chance? Or is sheer patience not a concept? No one will buy Torres if he's not willing to take a pay cut. Best we just make the best with him until his contract expires
-
Enough Space? Rooney/Ba/Torres/Lukaku is far too many for one role given that Rooney wants to play as a striker. Someone is going to be left out and absolutely wasted.
-
How could we even consider any of these deals, regarding Eto'o or Rooney, when we still haven't found any negotiators for Torres? Lukaku should start and has deserved his place
-
The greatest big game player to have ever graced the earth. 10 finals. 10 goals.
-
Agreed. Experience mixing in with youth. I never claimed we wouldn't challenge, just that I find it ridiculous how many make us out to be clear favorites. I would rather start Lukaku than buy Rooney and have him on 200k per week. Not to mention having Ba and Torres( who is also sucking the wage budget)
-
If he does, let him go. Considering it's apparently every players 'dream to play for Barcelona'... Laughable. I hope he doesn't though, Mourinho could turn him into something special rather than pairing up with Piqué and under the guidance of a man who has no experience in Europe
-
That is why I find it amusing how we are sometimes labeled as 'clear' favorites for the title. His current reign with us is much more difficult than what he did with us back in 04-07. Back then, he built a team of players that were in their prime and established a strong stabilized core. Instant success. Now he has a group of young talented players that he must develop and organize together to create the next generation of CFC. He's stated that he plans on developing youth prospects and to give this club the stability it's been missing, for that, Jose has my full backing and support. I just hope some of the fans tone down on the pathetic knee jerk reactions if we somehow finish lower than we should, knowing that this squad is in transition, which it desperately needs. Stability > Instant success
-
Should be starting next season, he's more than proved his worth and shows the drive and desire to excel.
-
Quite frank I met some quality members on my brief spell here so far, and others that stench of plastic.

Brilliant reply. Actually, Liverpool fans are more hyped up on their history rather than focusing on the future and establishing a squad that is capable of stability as well as generating young talents. So no, quite actually that was a piss poor reply. Well worthy of "one of the most grounded CFC fans around" Cringe Considering you are the laughing stock on one of the biggest neutral football forums in the web, (TotalfootballForums), and actually won the Wooden Spoon award 2012, (an award given to the member that displays the most stupidity), any post you conjure up in regards to football, i genuinely and respectfully ignore. Cheers

If i'm having to actually waste my time and discuss the matters revolving the club's under goings in terms of academy production involvement as well as the path that has been implemented for nearly 3 years now in regards to this club's future, I sincerely doubt i'm talking to 'one of the most grounded CFC fans around', a label only one would lay open himself, as cringeworthy as it is. Especially when they are more concerned about 'present' directions instead on focusing on how to make this club run with stability and not over rely on Roman. Fuck me

Keeping an open minded view doesn't deem well with others.

I was born and raised into this club, keeping and restoring our tradition and identity is what I value most of Chelsea FC. Were you aware of the undergoing of our academies and what our board has been doing in regards to youth talents and sending them out on loan? Especially these past two seasons? Have you seen Mourinho's press conferences and how he has stated he promises to instill stability as a main factor and try to introduce youth prospects into the squad? This club is heading in the right direction for the first time in 7 years. Thing is, I'm not afraid of Mourinho not following through to his promise, I'm actually more afraid of the reactions of some Chelsea fans who deem it as a sin to be patient with our squad and transition. Instant success seems to be the aurora or mentality as of recent years and it spews of plastic mentality. I had a discussion with a member who labeled it 'plain and stupid' in regards to the league and club that should start promoting more homegrown players to keep the tradition and the leagues identity. There are far more important matters in football than winning silverware and buying 'list world class player here'
-
And I will always counter that our 05 and 06 titles wins we didn't rely on a prolific striker. Neither did United in 2011 as of most recent. It has become ever so evident what Mourinho is trying to do since he arrived, establish a strong and stable squad. Once they complement one another and have that winning mentality, they will excel. Stability > Instant Success

Provides depth and hasn't suffered from injury in a while. As I've stated, his flaw is his inconsistency which has horrifically made him look average. He has shown moments of quality and hopefully Mourinho brings out some consistency from him and the entire squad. Him and Ba are decent options to have on the bench and many are forgetting we still have the best manager in the league. If he has faith in his strikers, so should we
-
Yet if you are basing on goals and assists, you will realize that the only stand out performers from both City and United were the strikers, their midfield was either sub par or average. Ours on the other had, was outstanding. If we are to have our defenders and attackers contain the same amount of quality/consistency our attacking midfielders showed last season, we will be in the right direction, which is why Mourinho was hired. Demba Ba never had a good run of games and had a knock during his small tenure with us. He still however impressed on his debut and got us crucial goals in important games. Torres's main flaw was inconsistency, but in cup matches, he tended to find the back of the net quite regularly like it or not. Got us an important goal in the final against a very good Benfica side. Lukaku has proven himself in the league and is most undoubtedly ready to lead our front line. People are so thrived by throwing the 'inexperience' label, when he has proven time and time again he shows the hunger and drive to excel. He is so mature for his age and more than accomplished his goals at his loan spell at West Brom. He's been patient with us, why can't we be patient with him? A class and quality footballer that he is? If he struggles, he struggles. If he excels, he excels. I'll support him either way. Why do most Chelsea fans find it ever so difficult to be patient? Immediate success has always been the sort of mindset. Is it too much to ask to be patient with our players and squad and allow them to blossom into the potential they are capable of becoming?
-
And how does one gain experience? Lukaku has proved that he is capable of handling the front man role. He scored a hat trick against United and tore apart Liverpool, on an average West Ham side. Demba Ba was quality before his transfer, so we are to label him a flop and deny any of the quality he once had and place judgement on him, only after half a season? May I remind you he got us past United in the Fa Cup and got us back in the game against City? Torres main flaw is inconsistency, which Mourinho has promised to implement in him
-
Ultra Defending? We had a solid tactic that literally had the opposition shitting their pants. Goals came from around the park and every player complemented one another. Jose had faith in Gudjohnsen and Drogba, and if he has faith in this current group of strikers, I will as well.

We have Torres who did well in Europe, Ba who did well in the league, as well as Lukaku. Now we have a manager everyone respects and wants to impress. 2011, Rooney and Hernandez were under 20 goals each. We have three forwards who are each capable of reaching double digits in goals, not to mention with Mourinho under their guidance
