Which of Chelsea's main defenders (except a well-playing Terry) would actually be much better than this guy? I'm guessing none. He also seems to be getting better and better on the RB position. Would be a good signing for anyone, since he can play anywhere in the back four.

They were never on the same level. Praet is a very decent player and he was very good in the CL this season, but he'll never be a regular starter for a top 10-20 team in Europe, unless he really surprises me.

Never had problems like this at any other club as far as I remember. Mourinho and KDB just don't like each other on a personal level. Both are strong personalities, both can be cunty. It's perfectly normal for something like this to happen.
