Joe Cole begins his first league game since 11 January but there is no Ashley Cole.

The left-back has not recovered from a knock on his knee midweek so Branislav Ivanovic looks set to fill in with Juliano Belletti remaining at right-back.

Ricardo Carvalho returns, as does Didier Drogba. Salomon Kalou, despite his two Champions League goals on Wednesday, returns to the bench.

Blackburn are much changed. Not only is Franco Di Santoineligible, their other main attacker recently, David Dunn, is missingso El-Hadji Diouf moves from the wing up front and Jason Roberts comesinto the side.

There is a recall for Brett Emerton on the right and at the back,Christopher Samba and Pascal Chimbonda are replaced by Gael Givet andMartin Olsson.
