Not a chance that Asensio is s**t. He's a very good player, infact his skill set, close/tight ball control, long range shooting and great linkup play is perfect for Sarri's system. We also have 2 ageing wingers in Pedro and Willian who we have to replace with CHO and someone else at some point in the next 2 seasons.

Anyways the swap will never happen so who I'm I kidding..

Asensio is overrated thats why he can not get into that Real Madrid side, watch his other games in which he didnt score. Remember the name Isaac Cuenca, Munir and Cristian Tello? Remember how they were tearing it up playing next to Messi but were soon exposed outside the Barca system. Thats the same with Asensio and Vasquez. Watch Spain's world cup games for reference. Even Madrid fans know Asensio is not the real deal.

Asensio is a special talent. Cannot dispute that. Nobody is the real deal at 20 or 21 years old. Not even Messi or Ronaldo were. The reason hes so well regarded is because he has huge potential and even right now he is more than good enough to play for a lot of teams. Isco Asensio Bale is the future at Madrid now Ronaldo has gone.

Pele is a different era.

Mbappe can still grow, anybody who thinks he is the finished article, get real. The guy has so much football in him still and he will become an absolute phenomenal footballer, somebody who along with Neymar can challenge Messi and Ronaldo for Ballon D'Or, Hazard as well if he gets that ruthlessness in his game. He is very very good but I wouldn't go as far as saying hes the real deal because he still had his inconsistencies for PSG last season and I wouldn't be surprised if he still does. A good WC doesn't necessarily change that.

We have different visions of what is the real deal. I would take Mbappe over ANY player on the planet today (due to Messi and CR7 age), and Pele would dominate in today's game.

Total matches: 1,375
Goals scored: 1,285

My prediction of how good Asensio can be can only be proved over time. Just like how I saw mbappe's talent, Asensio may not be on that level but he's going to be a great player imo. We'll see his progression in the next few years...

If you had 2 options next year from Real (this assumes a lot, in that Hazard needs to refuse to renew, and that Real would do this swap, which they wont, lol)

would you take

1 Verane and Isco for Hazard

2 Verane and Asensio for Hazard

I would do either and toss in Luiz or Fabregas plus cash too (if needed) for makeweight

Hell, make it 2 for 2 and add Wilian plus Hazard for Verane plus either Isco or Asensio

I will leave Kovacic out, and make that a straight buy

I'll take Asensio over Isco without blinking. He's faster than Isco both physically and in decision making.

He also is a direct replacement for Hazard at LW. I tend to agree. The main problem with my scenario is Verane. RM will never sell or swap him until he is over 30yo. Maybe if Mbappe was involved.

I know its still early guys and gals but I dont think we realize just yet what a big difference Mat K is going to have on us

I see him ripping the PL apart.

He might not have done anything flashy the other day but believe me, he done his job very well. Just sit back and ponder the thought of Bakayoko in his position the other day vs Newcastle. He would have probably given Newcastle at least 10 opportunities to counter us. Kovacic kept his range perfectly to keep the ball rolling and to pounce when we lost the ball to regain ball retention. He is going to be a big, big player for us this season. Having Kante and Kovacic next to Jorginho leaves me feeling less nervous when Jorginho loses the ball because we have the legs to regain possession. Notice how Fabregas hasn't featured yet and I really doubt he will in the PL. Think we will use Cesc in the slower paced European games on a Thursday night thus allowing for Kovacic and Kante/Jorginho to recover. It's too early for me to judge Barkley. I truly feel there is a player in Barkley but it is definitely too early to Judge.

WE HAVE TO BUY HIM ON PERMANENT BASIS!!!!

I will go full on bonkers if we are just grooming him for those Spanish cunts in Madrid to replace Modric!!!!

Thought he was excellent yesterday.  Looked a little leggy towards the end and was probably subbed off at the right time.  He was so positive every time he got on the ball.

He was a substitute at RM. Like Morata who was also a substitute. I have serious doubts about him. Hope  to be proved wrong.

Any news regarding his injury from the Cardiff game?

I think someone said it isn't serious, I guess Sarri in the press. Kova on facebook also sounded like it was just a knock.
