Ok, so we have a chatbox and it's on when theres an admin around making sure all is ok. It would be good though if it stayed on a bit more because when an admin needs to go, it just gets turned off in mid convo. I enjoy chatting on the box and it will save a lot of spam on the forums in threads where ppl are more like chatting rather than posting on topic. It might get heated and fiery but thats just life. Will bring everyone closer too and get to know each other a bit more. Will be beneficial imo to just leave it on.

Thoughts?

would like to see a daily "good day " thread where members could greet ,,,give their news .a friendly place to let people know how things are with them.

I was enjoying the chats there for a while (even if it did involve someone talking bout abortion ). It's a nice way to actually get to know members from the forum.

Can the ability to turn it on or off be given to mods too? It would be good to have it around some more.

It can only be turned on or off by admins. I don't see why it can't be left on for a few hours.

This is A very Very good idea. i know for a fact seeing what a similar thing did for another forum it will be such a plus for the community. itll defo bring members closer together. knowing by my experiences i had my first crush/love in one of them forum chatboxes [not the naked teenage girl on webcam ones because im not like that]

how about Also give like A trusted mod power in one of the chatboxes say the single Admin keeping A eye on it gets. well taken Away from it early on

but yeah not All the time As it will sap the forum Activity but for A few hours A week sure. it will be like. the forums beer. little bits will do its mood good if its in a good mood

I'm on another forum (PS3 Related) which has a chatbox on permanently and we sometimes just chat non stop for hours about stuff lol. It certainly does bring members closer together. It won't decrease the forum action either because there's always stuff to post about here. Might increase the popularity in the close season tho when the football is over.

It is a great thing to have for a forum, but I can tell you from my personal experience that having it turned on all the time makes people inactive.

If it stayed on all the time some people on here would abuse it (no names mentioned), some people just can't be trusted. Also the forum activity would drop, people would stop posting and it would destroy the forum. I've seen it all before thats why it only goes on for a few hours if an Admin is around.

I still haven't seen how does chatbox work, but if it slows down the website then I'd suggest you using chatango chat. I made a group for my forum and placed it on top of homepage and it works really well. Only downside, as I said in the post above, is that it lowers the activity of forum.
