Naked Mole Rat 437
exams at end of y 11 age 16+ determine courses for final 2 yearsexam at 18+ determine entrance to University coursesboth extremely stressful times for students and parents ...Exams for 16-year-olds? That sounds terrible. I didn't have to worry about school at all until my final year in high school.
Melanicus 5,208
I'm 15 year old and I'm happy we don't have those exams for 16 year olds. I'm good in school, but I have two subjects where I'm not confident in myself enough (Maths and Biology). I always fuck up tests on those. I'm extremely nervous during the tests of Maths and Biology. Always look at clock and nervous because I don't have time... Awful.

Alee. 182
You lot seriously don't have exams till 16? We've been having exams every year since first grade, seems like a total bummer now. Anyways, Glad to say i got 3 As (Physics, Maths, Economics) and a B (Chemistry) in my A level results. Pleased with it, looking forward to applying absolutely everywhere next year. I'd also make a homework/revision timetable for evenings and weekends that way you know when you should be doing what. I know it sounds crazy but it will help in the end. Also you can change things as needed but at least you have a plan in place especially in the spring as you head toward your AP exams. JMHOAlee, they take tests and year end exams in other years but the year 11 and 13 exams are the ones which are crucial.

Yes, in a manner of speaking you can say that I am familiar with it. More in the sense of been there done that and am on the other side of the marking pen now. So is my favorite person, zoyales ) So neither of us give studying/school advice lightly. I implemented the AP Chem program at the school I taught at before we moved to Asia. So I am very familiar with the AP program, but to be honest I am not convinced of the usefulness to students in science, I'd rather see a school offer 2-3 levels of a science then an AP course. I think the students get much more out of it that way. I work at a school now that does the iGCSE (UK curriculum) and IB exams. So I am familiar with both the US and UK curriculums. I stick by my advice above and revision can be something as simple is reviewing vocab terms, writing out notecards, making up a rhyme to help you remember a formula and can be for 15-30 minutes. Doing a little each day will help much more than sitting down and doing 5 hours in a day. Your more likely to remember it if you do it in little bits. The rhymes can be said as you are going up a flight of stairs, running, or any other common task.
