Term-X 7,891
This movie is just one big advertisement, it's about a few kids who walk to the world cup. The movie itself is about a world cup which involves international football teams. Yet throughout the entire movie the main character wears an Arsenal shirt. It is Perfectly fashioned so that the badge and sponsors are clear as day, the other main character is wearing a Liverpool shirt throughout the entire movie. So just to clear this up for everyone, a movie about international football has the main characters wear Arsenal and Liverpool shirts, Throughout the entire film. With the sponsors and badge constantly on show. This is timeless advertising for Arsenal due to the fact movies are forever, especially if this shite turns out to be a hit.We win the double, yet Arsenal gain another million fans from winning nothing. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1429313/
DavidEU 2,023
Because its not a Chelsea shirt? Surely its just showing what football means to a deprived country and to poor families?Sounds like a crap movie regardless, but your 'point' is ridiculous.I edited your topic title slightly to save you some embarrassment. Chelsea win the double, yet Arsenal gain another million fans from winning nothing.
Rubber bullets 1,183
Don't Arsenal have a huge following in many parts of Africa already though. I don't see how this hurts Chelsea in any way.

I really don't see how it matters. And LOL, winning the title doesn't guarantee your football shirt being featured in films, I'm afraid.I can't believe your so angry over this. Means nothing. Whether its Arsenal, Chelsea, or Accrington Stanley.
Gianfranco_Z 202
The Premier League is one of the most followed leagues in Africa and you would see kids wearing the shirts all the time, sometimes it's the only football clothing they have! I don't see the problem at all, they've just picked 2 well known premier league sides...I have a theory on why it's not Chelsea also. From what i've seen of the trailer it involves alot of action, danger scenes and adventure, the colour red can easily be asscociated with this film genre whereas the colour blue is often a pretty chilled out and relaxed colour not associated with danger action and adventure. ^ I know that's abit far fetched but you learn that kind of stuff being a media student. Term-X 7,891
It's product placement, and arsenal don't deserve such recognition, especially when you consider chelsea are the better representation for africa. Considering we have the ivory coast captain amongst our ranks. This is an ideal form of marketing for a football club, it was bad enough when EA sports kicked Lampard off the Fifa 11 cover. Even though they are supposed to be our platinum sponsors.

LDN Blue 7,903
Product advertising always happens in movies, Nike and such sports brands are always the obvious ones. Wouldn't really surprise me if Liverpool and Arsenal have a "vested interest" in this film, I'm kind of glad Chelsea isn't associated with such cheap advertising. If you do not wish to participate in chelsea related discussion, then i suggest you take your own advice and 'go outside'.This film has nothing to do with Chelsea and this is the General Chat section anyway.Everyone gets advertisments in films. Newcastle with Goal, United with Bend it like Beckham you could count all the hooligan films too, and now Arsenal (who most of Africa already support) with this...it's not a big deal.
