Of course he's wrong, i would of like to have seen Maradonna take on real defenders who weren't blinded by the sun.

University's could enrol students on entire courses just discussing and analyzing how great that Zidane goal was. Even I'm not doing it enough justice, we need a linguistic professor to describe it really.

The maradonna dribble was a great goal but it is nothing we have not seen before. We have seen great solo goals in the past and presence, zidane's goal was just unbelievable he knocked the wind out of everyone's lung when he did that. The maradonna goal could of been done by ryan giggs or arjen robben or even messi, the england team were intimidated, name a player that could of done zidanes goal ?

In recent history i'm sure most people would agree this is the greatest goal ever scored in the champions league. That goal was also voted the best champions league goal ever by experts, pundits and ex players for an itv show.

When I say it's the greatest goal ever scored I'm exaggerating it's magnificence. Yet that statement is not far from the truth, due to the champions league being far more competitive than any other competition in the history of the game. Especially when you consider technological advancements in training, preparations and the science and player development involved today. Of course I haven't seen every goal ever scored, but I don't need to see a local grass roots team score past a part time plumber at centre back. The champions league final is the ultimate stage and to score a goal of that caliber was alien.

But that's a free-kick, he had all the time in the world, and doing that doesn't take the genius technique in which Zidane had to perform.

I don't intend to offend you or script this like an insult, but you really don't understand the game if you honestly think that goal took more skill.
