Jose was right to let him go -his puny physique continues.

MADRID (AFP) — Real Madrid said Arjen Robben will be unavailable for Thursday's Spanish Cup match against Mallorca due to a muscle strain, the latest injury to the club's costliest pre-season signing.

The Dutch midfielder has now suffered four injuries and failed to make an impression since joining the club from Chelsea for 36 million euros (52 million US dollars) on a five-year contract.

The 23-year-old has made only five starts since joining Real Madrid, two of them in the league, the newspaper El Mundo noted on its website.

It said Robben, who gets paid around 10 million euros a year, has thus lived up to his reputation of being as fragile "as glass".

El Mundo said his fraility contrasted with the robustness of countryman and clubmate Ruud Van Nistelrooy, 31, who on Wednesday extended his contract for two years to 2010.

Coach Bernd Schuster said last month that Robben was suffering from "anxiety" resulting from his desire to prove himself.

His dad instead of whoring him, should have been making sure he drank his milk, and had a square meal inside him now and again.

Lol, too right, to get the money we did for him in the end was fantastic. He is going to keep picking up injury after injury - Which is a massive shame because he was a super talent.

Seemed a bit of moany git as well, precocious talent paired with a barely hidden mercenary attitude that you knew he was going to be off sooner than later.

As you say good business to offload him to Real, and a shame we didnt swap for Ruud. Could do with him now.

His partnership with Duff in Joses first season was a major factor in us winning the league. Since then, he's had more sicknotes than Darren Anderton. On his day, he's the best winger in the world i think, but we sold him at the best time possible. His last 2 seasons were stop start and it was only gonna carry on that way. Damien Duff is pretty much the same himself, he was sold because he never got over the shoulder injury. He was scared to go into any challenges and he was sold simply because of his injuries. Robben was scared to challenge last season too, still got injured lol. Still as TB said, he is a fucking drama queen and he certainly frustrated the life outa me in his last 2 years.

We can't act that smug over replacing Robben with Malouda mind, we've not seen an awful lot of Florent either. Hopefully he'll stay fit from now on though, and get a bit of form. He's definitely a talented player, though he'll never top Robben at his best.

Robben's top we saw for a few times,if Malouda plays decent every game i would be more pleased than having Robben running around injured screaming like a little bitch.

:lol::lol:

Agree with Ollie him and Duff were awesome to start with, mustve frightened defences shitless to have them running at them. But once he'd had an injury he turned into a right pussy and never got back what he had. In flashes yeah, but he was never consistently that good again. He could trip over a blade of grass and be out for weeks. And sulk? FFS he was like a petulant child, permanently needed a good kick up the arse imo.

Dont even get me started on his dad. You'd think Robben was a 3 year old unable to make his own decisions the way his dad carries on.

We did the right deal at the right time, their physio's bench is welcome.
