As I said earlier, by far the most important factor of victory in war (and this is research from the West Point Academy) is the amount of steel a nation can produce. China has 4 times the population of the USA, roughly 1.3 billion. They only need to send about 5 million soldiers, everybody else can be used utterly to do nothing but manufacture products for the army. Stalin did the same thing with the USSR in the 40s, that was the reason they single handedly won WW2 in Europe.

The USA cannot force its civilians to work themselves to death producing steel. That is the main advantage that one party, human rights poor countries have in war- they can do what they want and no one is going to stop them.

Also Vietnam, and Afghanistan have defeated you. I'll give the USA slack with Afghanistan, that place has never been invaded successfully, not even Alexander the Great could do it.

I do think you'll be in trouble against the Chinese if it's just the USA against China. You need allies to match China's industrial potential.

sure thing but when it come down to it, no way would any of us have a "full blown war" just cause of financial implication but if push come to shove, the only saving grace would be russia for us and we all know how much of a wild card they are.

I think it will be a war of proxy for the next few decades, just like how the Cold War turned out. The US will get their allies to fight China's allies. But the financial systems aren't that integrated. China owns a lot of the debt that the US owes, but the US can say fuck you anytime to the Chinese and just stop buying their products and not repaying the loans. China can do the same, stop giving the USA it's products and force them to pay back the loans. Neither side are that far in that breaking away would mean economic ruin.
