Awesome. I live next door to a JB Hi Fi. I can see it right now.

Perfect man. Just do that, go in and say you don't know my information off the top of your head but I can get it if they need it. They should just match it but yeah I would just update the ram and SSD youself. It will save you money.

For example something like this:

I work at JB HI FI. Just go into the Brisbane store and tell him that your cousin works at a store in Victoria. He said you will be able to match the student price for me. If they say they want to call me shoot me a message on here and i'll give you my work info so they can look me up.

Do you receive stupid and weird questions from customers? Share us your hilarious stories Steve! :)

Will that fit in the Mac's case? I've never built or taken apart a laptop only desktops, I imagine it's the same principle.

It's pretty straight forward with the pro's you just got to undo a few screws underneath and it's a standard 2'5" hard drive in place. Only thing is you will need to transfer across the operating system. So if you can't be bothers fucking around with it maybe just order it online with the ssd pre installed and just do the ram yourself.

Pretty much, except if you touch one thing wrong your whole laptop is screwed.

Also, the GPU is a chip and there wont be space for you hand to work properly (use tools)...

It seems a fair bit of screwing around, more than it's worth. How would I go about transfering the OS?

What ever you do. Do not buy the ram upgrade online because quite frankly they're taking the piss with those prices. The ssd they provice are still quite good. I may have some spare ram sitting around at work that I might be able to send up to you for free. I'll check out work and let you know.
