Yes they will give you 10% off depending on which uni you're at. But if you do a custom build they might not depending on the parts. Also you may not need the i7 unless you intend on doing video editing. It won't really help much for basic use but anything with rendering involved it will be handy. For example if you use flash and a file is rendering the i7 will help alot. Something for you too consider.

If you want to put a bigger ssd, just buy it separately and put it in yourself, then buy an external case and put in the hard drive from the mac into the case.

I might be able to get you discount on stuff but you will have to say you know someone who works in vic and they sent me in and they will give you discount.

I don't know how'd that would go down. How much is Microsoft Office for Mac? Can I just...'pirate' it?

Whaaat?

$169.00 for home and student and yes you can just pirate it! ($129 with my discount :whistling: )

It's for the app store as they said earlier which is a load of shit to be honest. But you could just buy a few decent apps for your comp with it.

With student price it will drop too around $1229 for the computer. Plus upgrade the ram yourself for around $30 (really easy to do). The SSD buy online, 256gb Samsung for $129.

What shop do you work at? Should I buy online, at JB Hi-Fi or at an Apple store? I want to barter with the salesmen.

What type of RAM does a Mac use? I doubt I can just buy any old DDR2 and shove it in there.

I work at JB HI FI. Just go into the Brisbane store and tell him that your cousin works at a store in Victoria. He said you will be able to match the student price for me. If they say they want to call me shoot me a message on here and i'll give you my work info so they can look me up.

Perfect man. Just do that, go in and say you don't know my information off the top of your head but I can get it if they need it. They should just match it but yeah I would just update the ram and SSD youself. It will save you money.

For example something like this:
