Chelsea's academy and reserves sides have a habit of losing pre-season matches!

Indeed they do, but also for me it highlights why young players in Germany, Italy and Spain come through in better and more quantity is that they are playing this type of opposition week in week out, clearly it is a big difference to reserve team football and to play this sort of opposition every week would massive increase the players ability and experience.

This is the way English football has to go if it REALLY wants to improve the quality of players coming through.
