Jon 18
Shoots when he should pass.Passes when he should shoot. That's just how it goes... I personally don't rate him as high as others. The good doesn't out way the bad (just like Mikel for me).
Fizia_92 0
He's got the ability but one of the most frustrating players to ever have played for us. Amazing in the Dutch league but not good enough to be 1st team regualr at Chelsea
Randall 315
He's more than good enough as a super sub. No player of better quality than him would be willing to sit on the bench and plays only now and then.Joe Cole is better to bring on than him and we have stoch coming back next year, or one of the young kids - I'd honestly rather see Borini or Kakuta come on than Kalou. I think we could sell him for 10-15mil and buy someone a lot better, or at least put money toward someone of a much greater quality. Kalou just frustrates me he wastes so many chances and although he shows occasional glimpses of being able to do something it's very, very rare and much outweighed by all the crap things he does, he just never fulfilled his potential and it's time for him to go now. Badboy 1,526
Sell Kalou and give Kakuta the chance, please Carlo, this kid will shine when given the chance, he has so much about him, more than that hopeless waster Kalou. I know he's readyYes kakuta has much better control i can see him developing into a zola type player !
kakuta44 16
kalouless is the biggest pain in the ass in the whole team .... but guess what ?? 95 % he will be there next year enjoying his amazing ability to frustrate every Chelsea fan ..... bigbluewillie 1,930
kalou i've never liked or rated, i'm under the impression when he first came to us he was a striker or should have been but couldn't score, so they tried to change him to a winger he's just as bad at that position, he's in my top 3 to get rid of along with............ballack and deco.and like the general concenus get rid of him and bring on kakuta, carlo show some balls and play him in the 3 remaining games :eyebrows:regards: JBD
BlueLion. 21,491
Kalou looks a lot better to me when he comes on as a substitute, when his pace can run tired defenders ragged. I point you in the way of the United game and the FA Cup semi-final; he made a real difference. I don't think he has the quality to be a top striker but he can certainly prove a useful squad player. No need to sell him, IMO.

BlueLion. 21,491
Spot on. He's had about 40 minutes of league action in total.

ZanSnake 1,211
Here is a better question, is Kakuta slightly overrated.(Waits for barrage of insults coming)How can we say he is and he isn't?All we know is that with the time he has already played, he has played better then Kalou, and that in my books says that he should be played more then Kalou. And if as Kalou is 25, and Kakuta is on the better side 19, he stills has seasons ahead in which he can develop into the style of play of the premiership, which Kalou has failed to achieve. So, he is overrated in the terms of playing time, but potential, hell no! ZanSnake 1,211
At least Kalou could take a penalty. And you expect a 19 year old kid with a large amount of pressure on him to score against an experienced goalkeeper who has played more then 40 caps for his nation? That's like judging Terry because he missed the penalty in the CL final.I also rate that there is no I in team, something that Kalou can't grasp. Rubber bullets 1,183
sometimes that's all it takes....besides that 40 minutes was better than kalou's total playing time since joining Its all very good that he can do tricks and step-overs, but if he can't take on tough difficult players then he will struggle in the Premier league. It may be a good idea to give Gael to a team like Stoke or Birmingham for a loan until January after pre-season to help him settle in the PL, a bit like Jack Wilshere and Bolton. With all the hype surrounding Gael Kakuta I'm sure many teams would let hm in their squad with open arms.Unfortunately if we do put him on loan then there will be a massive up uproar on this forum alone. BlueLion. 21,491
No-one complains about Kalou when he's scoring goals or setting up the winning goal in THE most important match of the season
Badboy 1,526
Kalou is not even close to kakuta ability wise, not even close. Kakuta has better ball control shooting he is quicker he also has amazing vision. Joe cole, ballack and carlo have all said he is special. Just like carlo said KAKUTA IS THE FUTURE OF Chelsea FC ! Yes the boy has fantastic skill, but his ability to pick a pass is what makes him so special. Sam anyone can miss a penalty kick you should know this your english, which makes that statement a cheap one !
