Blueboy 14
CAPELLO: JOE COLE MAY RETURN Posted on: Tue 02 Mar 2010 Fabio Capello has given hope to Joe Cole that he could make the England World Cup squad. Cole, who has 53 caps, has not featured for his nation since returning from serious knee injury in September but with three months to go until the Finals in South Africa, the England manager is watching the player closely. 'I saw the games Joe Cole played after he returned from injury and he played always so-so, but the last game he played very well,' Capello said, taking to the media ahead of Wednesday's international against Egypt. 'He has to play more games like the last and after he will be here [with England], possibly.' Though closing the door on John Terry regaining the England captaincy under his management, Capello is satisfied with the Chelsea captain's current form. 'I saw two games that he played, in Milan and against Manchester City,' said the Italian. 'He played a normal game but always when the team lose, the journalists try to find something about the most important player. I think he played very well those two games. 'He is training very well. He will be the same player in the dressing room and I told him he has to do the same thing like a captain.' chelseafc.com-----------Good for Joey, but what the hell has Capello been smoking? Terry had two 'normal' games against Inter & City? Didn't think so, or am I horribly wrong when i say something like that ? (Milito's goal & Tevez' first were due to his mistakes...) Steve 10,227
I think its a bit harsh to put the blame on terry for the tevez goal, after mikel headed it backwards he was always back footing himself trying to stay with tevez who is a very skilled player, as much as i hate him. So it would not of been easy. If terry had of kept up with him a bit more and not fallen so far behind i think he would of taken him out and taken a card for the team but Tevez was just too quick. And that ball of Mikel was also very poor, reminded me of the 'old' Mikel .

Its hard to correct yourself when your not in the best position. When he got back but he could of shut him down better but im just saying its not all Johns fault, a bit unlucky imo.But the goal in milan he should of never let him cut on inside. Big mistake. Big mistake.I don't mean directly after the header, but when they were back-tracking; Terry chooses the outside of Tevez and that way gives him the opportunity to shoot. Although i doubt he could have gotten to his inside with Tevez' speed . Anyways, i watched the goal carefully again, and it was especially poor from Hilario, Carvalho & Terry shouldn't be beaten THAT easily, but Tevez got a great deal of help from Mikel and Tevez has some quality though i hate that guy sincerely :censored:.Goal in Milan was pretty poor defending, he gave him way too much space (although i play on a different position in my team (anchor-role/DM/playmaker, and probably not on the same level as you are , i know that was a pretty big mistake ). Kez 2,727
Joe Cole will never get to the world cup if Carlo doesn't give him a full 90 mins once in a while.
Rubber bullets 1,183
If Bobby Zamora can be in brilliant form all season and still gets overlooked by Heskey, then there is no chance of Cole going to the world cup.

Luke 60
He needs to get game time under his belt in order to improve his fitness, then the form will come back, just hope its not too little too late for Joe.Downing, Young, Milner, Lennon (injured currently I know) are all probably ahead of him in the pecking order for England
boshman 1,073
Don't think Joe will make it to the World Cup. He hasn't performed anywhere near as well as he can do. Also the fact Capello hasn't picked him for the game against Egypt i think means he isn't in his thoughts.
