Who would you change?

The following players are the ones I would like to remove from our squad and the ones I would like us to sign.

Out

Ricky - I think age and injuries are slowly catching up with him, not quite the defender he use to be, still been a great servent to the club and a great player.

Mikel - Is it me or does he not know how to tackle or pass, he gives away the ball just as many times in 90 minutes as he does mis-timing tackles, he will never be in the class of Makalele at playing the holding role, saying that he does play in more advanced attacking role for his country so maybe we are playing him out of position??

J.Cole - As much as I hate to say this he is not the player he once was, and if he really wanted to stay at Chelsea I think he would be in the tabloids more saying that he wants a new contract, as of yet I have not seen or heard anything like this from him.

Ballack - In his day a great player but is now getting found out and being played of the park by younger quicker players, but you cant blame him because of his age.

Bosingwa - I know people may disagree with me on this but if Bayern were rumoured to be offering 15-18million then I would take it, yes great going forward but defending is a bit questionable, besides Ivanovic has proved to be a great replacement, which allows someone from our youth/reserves to step up, which could save us some money.

Kalou, Malouda, Anelka are all questionable players to sell, not sure if anyone is in agreement but I think Kalou has looked really bright in the last 3-4 weeks, Malouda, well has had a good season but still think there are better younger players out there, Anelka has gone missing, maybe because we are playing him out of position.

In

All the youth/reserve players mentioned in other posts should all be given a chance, especially Bruma, Stoch and Cork. I would like to see a world class winger, Di Maria would be a good signing, also like the look of Krasic from (I think) CSKA (maybe wrong there). I would like to see a long term replacement for Drogba, this Lakuku lad has been mentioned a lot but I have not seen any of him to comment, I do like Kenwyne Jones, if he can score a fe wmore goals he would be a great signing (remember even Drogba didnt have the best of goal scoring records when he first joined). I know this would be a long shot as I doubt he would come back but Scott Parker, he has been awesome for West Ham, and didnt get the chance he deserved at Chelsea, also Lee Cattermole again bit like Parker tough physical central mids.

Any way thats all I can think of really, please comment as you see fit as I know everyone has there own opinions, and if we could all be managers of Chelsea then I think we may have best squad in the world, but we arent and at the end of the day its only the manager who should decide on who to buy, so they can fit in there system, we as fans just have to support the manager and our players.

he is a great player one of the best at what he is doing ...... but he cant play along side with DD he is better as a CF not a SS that's why i think aguero is better ..... although if we can sell drogba and get him that will be brilliant regardless what a lot of people here will say about this .....

giving a look to the future torres only if drogba is sold will be great because of his age ... his only problem is his injuries ...

so only if we are planning on selling DD we dont need torres

DD and Anelka is 32 and 31 years old so I don't think he can play week in, week out. A rotation with Torres and Aguero will be fantastic. And with Di Santo and Borini playing in domestic cup matches and then be 4th and 3rd choice strikers after DD and Anelka retires.

I wish.

no you dont get it ..... no rotation either torres or drogba .. a player like torres or DD will never be happy sitting the bench ...... anyway as much as i hope that drogba and anelka leave and we pair torres and aguero upfront that well never happen but just imagine how sharp will those two together be ..... but the most important thing lets just not see anelka next season

No happy sitting on the bench for some rest? Too bad. I don't think any player who plays for a top club can last a whole season without being rotated. Most likely the reason why many of the players who do get injured a lot.

Anyway, if we sell Anelka and get Torres and Aguero, we can play like this:

..............Torres/Aguero/DD

........................DD/Torres/Aguero

Then play Di Santo and Borini in cup matches.

Again, I wish. :P

Strikers aren't our biggest problem, that sounds like the Real Madrid approach.

Well said, even though we are in need of young talent in the striker position, it's definitely not the biggest problem. Drogba/Anelka are as good as any striker duo out there.

----- Ivanovic - Alex - Terry - A.Cole

------Essien - Matic - Di Maria --------

------------------- Kakuta ------------

-------------Aguero ----- Drogba---------

give aguero the number 9 shirt, matic number 4 & kakuta number 10 and the shirt sales will go through the roof... instant return on the transfer fees.

I actually like this side, but where is Frank? I just cant see us not having Frank in out side I know he is the wrong side of 30 but still is one player we can rely on.

I agree with 99.9% of the suggestions mentioned in this thread, so instead of basically echoing those sentiments, I'll make my change a broad, all encompassing, one:

Change: The Old

For: Youth

I see clubs with exciting, and very effective young players and Chelsea just seem to be stagnant. And even when a viable youth option is there, the "old guard" still seem to be preferred even though the skill level between the two is very comparable.

For me if Carlo does stay and i pray that he does. I can see him targeting Kaka for some reason. I think there is a chance of him leaveing because he just doesn't seem to be happy there. Carlo did want him to come to Chelsea with him when he moved here. He is a quality player and someone who i think will suit our lineup but at the end of the day he will cost an arm and a leg.

We will also have Miroslav coming back from his loan spell. I can honestly see him staying out on loan for another season or atleast another 6 months. Depending on who we sign i guess.

I agree with Term about signing Di maria, he is a fantastic young talent. But i honestly dont want to see malouda go. I think for the last season and a half he has been quality. He continuously works hard to get into positions and had a great cross on him. But the one thing i think he is missing is that flair to skin his player.

I would like to see Kakuta get alot of games in our team next season but i cant see Carlo starting him.

you can't just consider kakuta as one of the starting 11 ..... offcourse he is an amazing talent but we should start by giving may be thirty or 45 minutes every match and when he is ready no one will be able to take him from his place

frank lampard should be on the left and matic as his sub .... also we need someone like kaka or ribery if carlo is planning to play with the diamond ...

It will be a problem next season. Didier and Anelka will be 33 and 32 next year.

I agree they are not a problem currently but I also agree that DD and Nico are both the wrong side of 30. I would love to see Torres but he is a totally different player to Drogba. I think we have a decent looking Stiker in Sturridge, but I think we need to bring some more quality up top along with some flair and pace in midfiled and on the wings. But we need players who will suit Chelsea, not players who just have the big name. I personally would like to see us buy at least one British players, Ashley Young would be a great buy for the wing, but how about Graham Dorrans from WBA, this player looks class, and if we were to get rid of some of our deadwood in the centre of the park then he would be a great signing, he certainly wont be costing us tens of millions and would be a player who could remain with us for years to come.

Maybe it's a little too early but it seems like Ancelotti is finally realising that the 4-3-3 (4-2-3-1) formation is the best formation for Chelsea FC.

I really hope he sticks to that formation.

But that brings me to the point that we do really need a few changes.

Replacing the old with the young.

Sell/Out:

Hilario, Fereirra, Carvalho, Belletti, Deco, Kalou, Sinclair, J. Cole (BIG maybe)

Buy:

Asenjo, Jerome Boateng or Kjaer, Gourcuff or Van der Vaart, Ashley Young or Aaron Lennon

Bring Back/Promote:

Patrick Van Aanholt, Ryan Bertrand, Mancienne, Cork, Matic (never plays), Kakuta, Stoch

DEFENCE

Hilario out and promote Turnbull to second choice. He is a good goalkeeper and since he is only 25 he can still improve. Or maybe get Asenjo who can spice up the competition. He is a fantastic keeper and he is very, very young being only 20 years old. Cech wont be able to slip up with those two fighting for first choice.

Carvalho out. Still a great defender but no so consistent anymore and injury prone. He can also bring some money in since he is still one of the better defenders out there.

Bring in a young defender. I would love to see Kjaer or Jerome Boateng (HSV), both fantastic young defenders. I would prefer Boateng since he is cheaper and he has pace and agility. He is also very strong and tall (1.92 m) and he can play as a fullback (left and right). Boateng can even give Alex a hard time for first choice.

Hutch is too injury prone and i think Mancienne is more comfortable at the DM position.

Promote Bertrand and PVA.

GK: Cech, Asenjo, Turnbull

RB: Bosingwa, Ivanovic (Boateng and Mancienne in emergency)

CB: Terry, Alex, Boateng, Bruma, Hutch (Mancienne, Cork and Ivanovic in emergency)

LB: Ashley Cole, Patrick Van Aanholt, Ryan Bertrand (Zhirkov and Boateng in emergency)

MIDFIELD

Desperately need a good playmaker. Van der Vaart and Gourcuff are the best options. Hamsik is a great AM but he isnt a real playmaker like VDV and Gourcuff. Rafael van der Vaart would be a good buy. He is simply world-class and very cheap. But he is 27 years and he is a little bit injury prone. Gourcuff is the best option. Young and very close to world-class.

Bring back and promote Cork.

DM: Essien, Mikel, Mancienne

CM: Lampard, Ballack, Matic, Cork (Malouda and Zhirkov in Emergency)

AM: VDV/Gourcuff, Lampard, Kakuta (Malouda in emergency)

ATTACK

From what i read Anelka is ready to stay with us and sign (lower wages). So he would be a fantastic back up for Didier. I dont think DD will be able to play as much as this season (he isnt the youngest) when the new season starts so he would get a lot of game time.

Aguero is not needed if we stick to the 4-3-3 formation. He isnt a winger and he isnt the lone striker type.

I think we're covered with Malouda, Zhirkov and Kakuta at left wing.

Sell Kalou. He just isnt Chelsea material, too bad because i do like him.

If Joey leaves then it would be best if we buy Ashley Young.

He is a great winger and only 24. He is expensive but worth it if you ask me.

Aaron Lennon is also a good option. He was one the revelations of the league before his injury. He is a player that could give defences headaches with his extreme pace.

LW: Malouda, Zhirkov, Kakuta

CF: Drogba, Anelka, Sturridge, Borini

RW: Ashley Young/Lennon, Stoch (Anelka in emergency)

Starting line-up

--------------------------Cech-----------------------------

Bos/Ivan-------Alex------------Terry---------------Cole

------------------Essien---------Lampard----------------

--------------------------Gourcuff--------------------------

Young------------------Drogba------------------Malouda

These changes will give us a good mix of youth and experience. And with this team we can finally be a consistent side again.

Asenjo is too good a goalkeeper to come and sit on his arse as a sub. However there is potential for him, once he gets a run in the team, to keep Cech on his toes, which is something the Big Man could do with.

I dont know if you missed it but he is a sub right now. He lost the first choice keeper place to another fantastic keeper called David de Gea (19).

So if Chelsea act fast they could get a fantastic goalkeeper who can keep Cech on his toes and maybe even replace him since he is already a great keeper, even though him being only 20 years old.

Dont get me wrong, i think Cech is great but a little competition never hurts.

a little competition never hurts ... that's right ...... but the GK shouldnt be one or our priorities ...... i would rather focus in getting a good young striker a winger and a center midfielder before ..... i start thinking about goalkeeping ....
