Its only a confidence thing imo.

That being said....it is having a knock on effect on the defence as it his uncertainty when the balls in the air which is making the defence having to second guess what he's going to do. If they knew he was going to come charging out and clean everyone in front of him that would be fine, but he's not doing that.

I dont like seeing keepers come out and punching the ball either. Theres too much risk involved in that as it could go anywhere. I like to see a keeper come out and take the ball cleanly in his hands and take the pressure off the defence. I'd have him spending extra time in training being in that sort of situation with balls constantly whipped into the box for him to claim with a few other players around him to get his confidence up.

theres no denying his shot stopping ability....he's still as good as he ever was....its the flapping which is giving us concern.

Llrois is twice the keeper Cech is and only 24 or around that. Far far better keeper.

His form's been dreadful this season. Have you seen his errors against Marseille? Two absolute shockers cost his team all three points ultimately.

Gotta face facts, when goalkeepers have bad spells, they should get replaced. Hilario had one game, vs Liverpool, Clean sheet, caught every cross, and got man of the match. When the ball comes into the box, Cech is not sure whether to come or go, he's not dominant enough. That is his only fault really though but it's a major fault as a goalkeeper. Forget the Hunt injury, he's either a capable confident goalkeeper NOW or he's not. atm he's quite clearly not as safe as he once was. Let Hilario play against Watford and see what he's like in that.

If an outfield player has a shocking spell, he's dropped. GK should be the same as should any player despite their status in the game.

He's on loan to BCFC from Manchester City, though. I suppose they see him as Given's understudy; the only reason he is at Birmingham is because we're in a World Cup year. The way he's playing; I'd have him in our England squad any day.

Cech really needs to be dominant and get more of the crosses. Every oppoent we have are targeting this weakness and is always throwing crosses into our 6penalty box. If we don't dealt with it soon, its sooner or later that we will start losing matches.

He needs to have good communication with the defender when the ball is crossed into the penalty box, becuase that is where he is having the most problems.
