BlueLion. 21,491
Its fair to say we're not exactly going to miss either Drogba or Lampard in an attacking sense against Wolves when you still have the likes of Essien, Anelka, Joe Cole and Ballack in the squad. Defensively we're also fine; true Cole and Bosingwa are first choice but Ivanovic has been solid in recent weeks and Paulo rarely lets anyone down. Terry has pulled out as a precaution to a slight niggle, but he will play through the pain because that's the sort of player he is. Its no injury crisis at all. Worst case scenario is we have to play the following team against Wolves, Porto and Arsenal:CechIvanovic, Alex, Carvalho, FerreiraBallack, Essien, MaloudaJoe Cole, DecoAnelkaI'm not particularly worried. Rambo 1,729
Paolo's not injured, neither is Mikel. Sturridge isn't injured eitherHaven't heard about Kalouwedon't have an injury crisis, Arsenal always have about 5 - 7 playersout and they don't talk about crisis' as much do they bloody hell.We will be fine, we don't have all these players on laughable wages in the squad for nothing.Paulo, Mikel, Kalou, Sturridge are players he left out on his list of substitutes. Ray. 217
What about Hutchinson from the first team, and also Borini and Bruma from the Reserves? I think Ancelotti needs to keep all his options open, particularly against Arsenal.Paulo, Mikel, Kalou, Sturridge are players he left out on his list of substitutes. You've posted this 3 times already. Blueboy 14
Let's hope we're good enough for the game against Arsenal...As i said, our backs are vital in our attacking play and what will Ferreira make of it? Hasn't played much games lately, so i hope he can cope with the pressure of his first starts of the season against teams like City, Arsenal and Porto... Blueboy 14
Let's hope it isn't, because then our injuries will really start to have a big influence on our upcoming fixtures .
bombayblue™ 55
I think Wolves would be a good run out for lot of players and it's good we're playing at home.. I expect at least Drogba, Lampsy , JT and Bally to be fit for Arsenal..
Rambo 1,729
Dont think Lampard or Drogba will face arsenal to be honest.
Blueboy 14
Lampard is almost certain not to play against Arsenal as it stands now, he'll be out for3 weeks. Drogba is bit unclear, depending on the fact if he has fractured or bruised ribs and how bad the damage exactly is:unsure:.
Aesthetic Relic 301
I wouldnt be worried too much about JT, from what I heard on 5-live he failed a late fitness test, so that itself tells me he could have played against Brazil. Even if he did missthe Wolves game we have Alex who's just returned who was outstanding last season in place of Carvalho.I'm not worried about Arsenal either....even with our current injuries we are the only squad thats capable of getting through a few weeks with several key players out.My linkhttp://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php Edited November 16, 2009 by Aesthetic Relic
Ollie 4,400
Everyone gets injuries, Arsenal have Van Persie out for over a month. At the end of the day we do have cover, they must be good enough because they are registered with a team like Chelsea in the first place. That's what a 'squad' is for. We seem to get injuries all the time and these threads every season but so does like everyone else. Its part n parcel of todays game. We'll cope, i'm sure. EskWeston 696
At the moment i wouldn't say we have an injury crisis at all. Lets see what is said once all the lads are back from international duty first. Plus it looks like Lampard is the only longish term injury doubt at the moment.
