For what its worth I think Sempiternal Sanath was better than Gilchrist, but not by much.

21032 international runs, 440 international wickets and 205 catches in 586 matches vs. Gilchrist's 15461 international runs and 888 catches and stumpings.

Gilchrist I'd take in an ODI, if batting second. I'd pick Sangakkara in a test though, because Sanga is the better all round batsman though Gilchrist was more explosive.

Honourable Mention to M. Hussey who I think was terribly unlucky that he was a late bloomer. If he started early he could have been one of the best ODI players of his generation. At his prime he was just so flexible, smart and had all the shots, much like Bevan.

Australia, I am disappointed. After the series with India I was full of optimism and confidence. We've been given a reality Check by the Pommies. Still a few years away from being in England's level. I must say they do look very good.

Australia just have no idea how to win an ODI.

Bat slow you plebs. Slow! Get to 200 after 45 overs and only be 2 wickets down instead of getting there after 35 overs and being 5 or 6 down.

We need to learn how to play in English conditions. We're too much like India at the moment, only comfortable in home conditions. Flat track bullies. Our Batters are so fragile. To be fair though it was a massive toss to win. It basically decided the game.
