Gennaro Gattuso's agent has denied suggesting that the Italy international could follow coach Carlo Ancelotti to Chelsea.

Earlier in the day, Andrea D'Amico was quoted as saying the 31-year-old midfielder was unhappy at AC Milan following Ancelotti's departure to Stamford Bridge.

D'Amico even suggested that his client could be interested in a move to the Premier League himself.

However, he has now back-tracked after claiming Gattuso will be staying with the Rossoneri.

He said: "I have never said that Gattuso will leave. There could be offers for him by clubs because who wouldn't want a player like Gattuso?

"Rino was saddened to see Ancelotti leave because he has a special relationship with him. His mission is at Milan and he wants to stay."

Rino is a quality player and a complete powerhouse for 90mins. He has always stated that he always wants to return playing for Glasgow Rangers as its his team and his father in law has a restaurant in Glasgow but he has a good few seasons left in him yet. He could do a job for Chelsea before making the trip up north.
