No need to sell Hilario, Alex has a bigger price tag than 10 million. If Wayne bridge can be sold for 12 million, Alex a much younger and a strong defender deserves a higher price.

Tbh if it were not man city who bought bridge for 12 million i would agree.

In all honesty, we need a massive squad shake up. I didn't actually realise how old the squad was. Even Essien and Kalou are getting on a bit.

We need a young goalkeeper, first and foremost. As much as I like Hilario, he isn't quite good enough as a number two. Someone like Neuer, Ochoa or Joe Hart would be an excellent choice.

Then I think we need some young blood in the midfield. A central midfielder to replace Ballack such as Mourinho should be our first port of call, followed by getting Quaresma in on a permenant deal. Then we need some blinding pace down the wing, and there is a lot of potential to be found in Stoch but also Hatem ben Arfa as well, who plays for Marseille. I believe we should go for him or at least someone of a similar ability and age.

Finally, we need a young striker, and for this we need to break the bank. Fair enough we have di Santo, but Drogba probably will have fucked off by now, and Anelka will be 31 next season. Someone like Aguero or Benzema is absolutely essential.

And for the record, I don't want Alex to go and I'm sure a lot of people here don't, but the fact is he wants more playing time and looks likely to leave.

Surely you don't think Quaresma would be content as 5th placed winger, do you? He'd be lucky if he gets more than a couple of games.
