carefreeluke 27
i think use are being a bit harsh to ballack, he has just come back from injury and has hardly had any real starting opportunities, he brought so much to our squad last season i think it would be a bad idea to drop him unless he does not start playing good sometime soon. Agreed, Ballack was one of are best players last year and i remember a stat saying without Ballacks goals we would have finished 13 points behind Man United or something like that.... And on John Terry's red card in todays game it was a certain red card i don't think we can argue unfortunately... My personal best starting 11 would be..... Cech Bosingwa Riccy Terry A.Cole Mikel J.Cole Lampard Essien Ballack Drogba Anelka has to be dropped despite recent form...and this is if everyone is fit, and that Scolari likes to have the 5 in midfield. Mungii 3
I must say it must be Essien-Lamps-deco-J.Cole and Drogba and Anelka up front..!!
BlueLion. 21,491
Personally, the midfield should feature the attacking impetus of Lampard and Essien with Mikel holding, with Joe Cole behind the forward two of Anelka and Drogba. People want a creative player, we've got one in Cole, but we simply aren't playing him in the right position.

Ollie 4,400
Ballack and Deco have been shit lately. Deco was a 1 month wonder (August honeymoon period) and Mikel is always half asleep. I personally would move Joe Cole into the center with Lampard, play either Ballack or Mikel in the holding role and let Essien play more freely, maybe even a diamond with 2 up top. When Lampard was injured last season, Essien was the one who attacked and he did a great job and scored a few in that period. I just hate this 4-3-3. we dont have the players to play it consistantly. At least we can try something like that against Southend surely....Well i doubt it. Just make sure Malouda doesnt play please god Edited December 30, 2008 by OllieCFC
Pauly8 0
mikel lampard essien ballack j cole drogba J cole plays his best football in the centre of the field. I Think with j cole supporting drogba it would be a great partnership. Drop deco, he has really pissed me of this season with his inaccurate passing and his lazyiness to give away free kicks.. BlueLion. 21,491
Mikel's been our best player this season bar Bosingwa and Ashley Cole if you ask me. He's certainly a player I wouldn't drop. Cech Bosingwa, Terry, Carvalho, A.Cole Mikel/Essien Lampard/Belletti, Essien/Ballack Joe Cole/Deco Anelka, Drogba Is the team I'd like to see play

Shit cross......you lose 10% of your wages. Lose posession with a shit pass(Deco)....you lose 10% of your wages. etc........

misschief 24
As much as I love and respect JT, he's in a bit of a slump right now. His leadership qualities are unquestionable, but defensively he has been very suspect in the last few games. Fair enough, he doesn't have Riccy by his side at the minute, but he isn't confident when he's playing now. Whereas he used to have the ability to read where an opponent would go, now he has to pull them back and concede needless free kicks. He's in a bit of slump at the moment, is our JT, although with that being said, no-one's really impressed me greatly in the last few weeks. Everyone could do with a kick up the arse if you ask me. Maybe I'm just over-analysing his performances, and knowing JT he's probably playing with a broken leg However I've got every confidence in his ability, and I highly suspect JT will prove me wrong with a series of solid performances at the back. Spot on. Whether its a hangover from Moscow or just his fitness, JT hasnt been right this season.
BlueLion. 21,491
I think its his fitness in all honesty - the entire squad look a bit tired when they reach the 70 minute mark in games at the moment.
misschief 24
Thats not really good enough though. There's a long way to go yet and if theyre all knackered already we've got no hope.
