Stoch delighted at debut

Teenage Slovakian midfielder praises Scolari after late substitute's appearance

Chelsea youngster Miroslav Stoch has spoken of his delight after making his debut for the Blues in Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Arsenal.

The 19-year-old Slovakian midfielder was introduced as an 81st minute substitute for playmaker Deco but he could not stop the Blues losing after a fantastic Robin Van Persie brace.

While the defeat tempered his joy at playing, he is still really pleased to have been involved and praised boss Luis Felipe Scolari for boosting his confidence.

He told his official website: "My childhood dream came true. Ahead of my substitution coach Scolari told me that I should not be afraid, that I should play the way I play in the reserves.

"He advised me that if the game was played with one-two passes, I should play so and if I had to dribble, I should not fear to do so. He cheered me up."

He added it was a 'fantasy' to play in one of the biggest derbies in the world.

"It makes you happy to make your debut in such a game. However, in this case it is only a half joy as we lost," he said.

Now he's finally got onto the pitch, I hope we see alot more of him.

Well done young man

Chuffed for him. The lad is a huge talent and i am waiting for him to be properly utilised in the first team to see what he can do. Speed, skill and an eye for goal. This lad can turn defenders inside out on the run like what we used to see from Robben. Would love to see him given more chances, especially in the light of recent performances from our current wingers.

As much as I want the boy to succeed, bringing him on against Arsenal was a bit of a foolhardy move by Scolari in my opinion.

Scolari didn't have much other choice really. The problem was that once he was on he never got the ball to have a chance to make an impact.
