Green has traditionally been a goalkeeper colour, so many teams avoided it. Those that didn't tended to have their keepers wear yellow or blue. Teams in Scotland and Northern Ireland that wear Green tend to be historically connected to Catholicism and/or Irish republicanism.''

Plymouth have always had green home strip, been there a few times with Chels in 70s and 80s
