the wes 7,212
A Chelsea fan who pocketed Jose Mourinho's Premier League winner's medal stands to make more than £20,000 after putting it up for auction. Company director Sebastian Kayll, 37, grabbed the souvenir after the coach threw it into the crowd as Chelsea celebrated their second successive title against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge in 2006. Auctioneer Bonhams, which is holding a sport sale in Chester on 19 November, has set a reserve price of £19,000 but estimates bids could reach as much as £22,000. Kayll, who has been a Matthew Harding Stand season-ticket holder since 1993, said: 'Bonhams reckon there are four or five millionaire collectors of Chelsea memorabilia but if Roman Abramovich wants to pay £100,000 and put it in the Chelsea museum, then all well and good. It will be bitter sweet for me to sell. 'As a Chelsea fan, it is a great memento but it was just sitting in my safe at home. Mourinho has moved on and Scolari is doing great things now, so it feels the right time.' When asked about his medal-chucking, Mourinho said at the time: 'The medal was for everybody but I think the person who got it is a lucky guy who goes home with a fantastic memory or goes to eBay and makes a fortune.' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...h.html?ITO=1490

Ollie 4,400
I would sell it lol. I can do a lot more things with 20 grand than i can do with a premiership winners medal. Its hardly like he earned the medal or he did anything to get it. I would be thinking about the money even before i caught the damn thing as it was bout to enter my hand. Chelsea Lad 0
I would give it to the Chelsea museum, even if I was offered nothing for it. (Obviously I would keep it for a good while first) Edited November 6, 2008 by Chelsea Lad
Kez 2,727
There's no way i'd be able to bring myself to sell it Maybe players like Damien Duff should sell theres now they're no longer at Chelsea?? warnie_666 1,081
Wouldn't sell it if i was bankrupt.. Easier said than done. No offence. But if Bjorn Borg can sell his hard earned trophies to feed his family, then i dont think selling a gifted medal is a sin. I would sell it to the club again only if im in need of money untill then ill keep it as a token of love from Jose .
BlueLion. 21,491
I'd either keep it, or return it to the club. I don't think I'd sell it though. Unless I REALLY needed to.
Fulham Broadway 17,311
I'd negotiate with the club to put it in the museum, and ask for a season ticket for life
Chelsea Lad 0
I'd negotiate with the club to put it in the museum, and ask for a season ticket for life That would be by far the best. Imagine it going in the hands of some glory supporter or even worse, not even a Chelsea fan. *shudders*

I'm broke, my salary has been cut to half, people around me are getting fired left, right and center owing to the financial crisis, I own a Chelsea shirt signed by the current players and although it doesn't classify as bankruptcy.. i am being offered 500 pounds for it and no i ain't gonna sell it for 50000 pounds.. let alone the medal, if i had it, which was thrown by someone whom i consider as a GOD.. T.T. 1,534
I'd either keep it, or return it to the club. I don't think I'd sell it though. Unless I REALLY needed to. "return it to the club" !!?? it was Jose that threw it away. It doesn't belong to the club. Why would you give $20,000 to the club. Do they need it more then you ?
