BlueLion. 21,491
According to the official website, Carvalho will be out for a month with a thigh injury, but Joe Cole has shaken off the injury he sustained against Hull and Drogba is fit for a place on the bench. Kez 2,727
Some good news. Alex will be able to do the job though
BlueLion. 21,491
More than certainly, we've got four very able CBs in the squad and Alex will be perfect to play versus Jones IMO.
True_Blue 469
Riccy is really having injury trouble this season hope he gets back soon. What about Ess is he coming back anytime soon?
Elliott 7
Essien is a couple of months away. Great to have Drogba back. We have two very able centre-backs to replace Carvalho so I'm not concerned about that.
BlueLion. 21,491
I'm concerned because Carvalho is by some distance our best defender, but as you say, BI and AdC are both very able.
Aesthetic Relic 301
You'd think having Drogba back in the fold it would be a message to Anelka to get his finger out and put in a performance to give LFS something to think about. Good news about Joe Cole.
Elliott 7
Like a shoddy hattrick?
BlueLion. 21,491
You can't fault Anelka, if he goes missing for half a game but still manages to find the net, its the sign of a good striker. Yes, most of them are tap-ins, but we're nine goals better off thanks to him this season.
Aesthetic Relic 301
You can't fault Anelka Oh really ???? If you scoured the match threads I'm sure you'd find hundreds of posts with...."FFS ANELKA"....or...."How did he miss that"...etc.....etc.... We have to have something to moan about. It creates debate
Laylabelle 9,536
Lol and when he does score it tends to be posts of 'finally' rather then wooo him. But still, goal diff looks funer due to him..just wish he wouldnt miss the simplies ones eg Man you!! Drogba today hmmm hopfully he'll get back into it soon
BlueLion. 21,491
Everyone misses chances, Lampard has missed more than just a couple of sitters this season but because its him, people forget it.

Theres always a scapegoat who'll get it in the neck. It just happens to be Anelkas turn
PaulH 2
I think Anelka is much better this season but he's been pony this season a lot of time. Okay he's scored 9 goals in total, but he goes missing for long periods and I think those goals cover up his poor all-round contribution. Aesthetic Relic 301
I know you have to be in the right place to score goals, but with his current goalscoring abilities, he's looking like Gary Linekar When was the last time Anelka took the ball and with some magic he bamboozled several defenders before rocketing one into the back of the net?
