BlueLion. 21,491
I love the way these injuries occur days after the window closes We're going to miss him badly

changingman2000 35
I think after Terry, Essien is our main man and, as a result of this injury, its going to be a struggle to compete on all fronts this season. All it needs is an injury to either Ballack or Lampard and we are pretty much fucked. I have a couple of Man Ure fans at my work an they keep banging on that the player they fear and respect more at Chels is Essien....and they aint wrong. warnie_666 1,081
I'm really starting to think people were right about the difficulties he'd have adapting to the Premier League after so long in the international game. I made this point when Chelsea failed to land Robinho and eded up with no one as a back up. But Elliot wanned me to give the man a break. So I have. Managing a team for a week is different and managing a team over a period of year is different. He has been caught off guard here and all of a sudden we are looking for players to fill in. BlueLion. 21,491
Yeah I do agree, it is a sign of inexperience from Scolari, but I'm sure he knows what he is doing. I'm sure there will be heavy recruitment in January.
Guest Lampards Bitch
Had a little look about the surgery Essien will go under. Though its key hole he will be up and walking the same day but wont be able to run and really stretch his knee for 7 months. And it take 8-12 months to fully recover God dammit! Well I would rather him take months and months to recover so that we have him back feeling fresh and fighting fit than make him rush and damage him self further. We will get through this. January we will buy someone and I a sure we can cope untill then.
Badboy 1,526
We really dont need more expensive players, we have di santo and sinclair who are good enough to do a job. Tajera can do a job behind the strikers too we dont need too spend.
chelseapaul 0
He's a big strong lad so I think he will be back sooner than expected. Hopefully not to do more damage but healing and strength wise. Be strong Michael and stay positive son, it's going to be a long hard haul to get back. Aesthetic Relic 301
I noticed that Essiens International team mate Appiah has cancelled his contract and is available even though the window has closed. Arsenal and Pompey are apparently looking to bring him in, if so, why dont we go in for him ? Not too sure what sort of midfielder he is, attacking, defensive or whatever, but hes a decent player and will definately add something to our thining midfield.
