Aesthetic Relic 301
I think I read somewhere he'll be back for the Citeh game.
Guest Lampards Bitch
He is a bit hit and miss for me still. Some days he has a blinder of a game then the next game he is awful. He lacks consistancy. But I think he should get in to a groove now that Maka has gone.
BlueLion. 21,491
Spot on, the reason why he wasn't performing consistently is because he never really got a clean run in the side with Makelele and Essien also playing there under JM and Grant. This season he'll play far more often.
Hingis 0
I hope he will be able to calm his temper because he tends to take red cards easily...
Elliott 7
Half the red cards Mikel's received have been bullshit.
BlueLion. 21,491
Agreed. Although he is quite hot-headed, and picks up silly yellow cards - you can tell Maka has given him advice on that front I think without Mikel there is less balance to the midfield, Mikel is the anchor that allowed Balley, Super Frank and Deco to go forward against Portsmouth, and we missed that against Wigan and Tottenham. If we can get him and Drogba back for the Citeh game, its three points IMO.
carefreeluke 27
I think he is under-rated in my opinion. He never looses the ball and keeps it simple. In teams now days its essential to have players like Makelele and Mikel in the team. Yeah and we need him back for the Man City game.... Like i said its because he just keeps it simple. He wins the ball then gives it to Lampard, Deco, Ballack etc so then the team can move from there. He doesn't look for the killer pass, thats the job of the midfielders who play in front of him.

EskWeston 696
For me Mikel is an outstanding player. For his age he is at an incredible level. And considering how his career has been extremely stop-start for one reason or another it even more of an achievment. Mikel was class against Portsmouth and we have missed him for the last 2 games. Scolari seemingly doesn't want to play Essien in the holding role, which is good because it is not his main ability. When Mikle is fit, he will play if you ask me which will be great for him. I think we will see him come on even more this season and become an integral part of our team. The holding role isn't Mikel's natural game, not at all, but he seems to have embraced it and will now take it on as his persoanl role.
