the wes 7,212
ROOKIE striker Franco Di Santo will wear Chelsea's No9 shirt next season. The Argentina ace has yet to make his debut for the Blues but he has played a big part during pre-season. And boss Phil Scolari appears to have given the youngster a huge chance by handing him the number. Di Santo, 19, takes over the shirt from Steve Sidwell, who moved to Aston Villa this summer. New signings Deco and Jose Bosingwa have taken the No20 and No17 shirts respectively. Click here Edited August 8, 2008 by DavidEU

bombayblue™ 55
he is living up to the number imo.. its we, who are putting too much expectations on him.. just cause he got number 9 doesn't mean he should score 10 goals more.. why should you look at him any different if he wore 9 or 36... he's a kid trying to break into the first team, treat him like that not as a number 9.. BlueLion. 21,491
That was my initial thought, but by giving him the number 9 it is pretty clear that the club have big plans for him, and therefore he is getting a lot of support.
