Didier Drogba to lead Chelsea's attack after lack of European interest

Didier Drogba was probably expecting a flurry of activity this summer as Europe's top clubs tried in vain to poach the striker from Chelsea.

Drogba's sending off in the Champions League final all but scuppered hopes of a transfer abroad and Luiz Felipe Scolari now looks set to have the Ivorian scrambling for more goals this season.

And this lack of interest in Drogba has also been confirmed through the late English version publication of the striker's autobiography.

The self-titled book was published in France earlier this year while the English version was held back with the view of adding an extra chapter on a proposed move away from Stamford Bridge.

However, a spokeswoman for Drogba's publisher Aurum Press confirmed: “There were plans for an extra chapter, but there aren’t now and the book will be published at the end of this month.”

When the book was first published, the Chelsea striker landed in hot water when he claimed that former manager Jose Mourinho told him to pick up a yellow card in a game, so that he could sit out a match of his choice through suspension and recuperate in the process.

The Football Association have since confirmed that they would analyse Drogba's comments regarding deliberate bookings before deciding on any action.

Should be an interesting read :whistling:

Instead of the FA scrutinising another players bland autobiography for incriminating evidence, they should do something worthwhile like banning the psychopath scouse coward Barton

That would mean they would have to actually make a decision that meant something.

We cant be having that. Whats the world coming to?
