Álvaro Morata

1. I do not doubt, nor am I questioning, that CaptainConte has seen Morata more than the rest of us. Therefore, his opinion should be met with gratitude. Having said that, it is important to remember that fans often see the same player in very different ways. I mean, do we need to look further than Nemanja Matic? Some fans here and on other forums worship him, while others see him as a highly limited and immobile player. Same can be said about Rudiger in Roma. It is simply a matter of perspective, not a universal truth.

2. I find it funny that some people are acting as if Morata's record last season is irrelevant. The poor guy just cant win, can he? Sure, he was an impact player but hey, he DID provide an impact, he scored goals where others struggled to do so. Since when is that something to use against him? He has in the past scored against Bayern, Real Madrid and Barcelona, more than Belotti or Lukaku can say.

3. We need to look at a couple of facts. Yes, he was not the starter in Juventus and Real Madrid, but both clubs value him very highly. The spanish national team values him highly. Conte values him highly. Manchester United valued him highly.
Does this not mean anything?

I do not think he should cost £70m at all, but then again its the market that dictate prices, not supporters. If he is put at such a high cost and clubs such as Chelsea and Man Utd didnt instantly go "Fuck Off!", then clearly they see something that we miss.

Well, fools worship Matic, and fools worship Rudiger. So is that to say, fools worship Morata?

I'd say so.

It's too bad that you fail to understand the point. You can apply the thought to plenty of players, Matic and Rudiger were two examples. Does this make it a little bit clearer?

Juventus were happy to have him leave.
Real Madrid are happy to have him leave.
He is not rated highly by either. Those are simply 2 clubs who know how to make money.

We don't know if Conte values him or not, truly. He's played players before he doesn't 'value' compared to his undroppables.
And then of course, Manchester United valued him so highly, that they were happy to walk away and sign Lukaku.

He isn't a player who improves a top side, at all.

Pretty much the bulk of people who rate Rudiger/Matic have hardly any posts, they barely engage in conversation, and they don't listen to reason. They don't seem to obsess about the game much either.

Most of the people who're more against than for Rudiger/Matic, for lack of better words, seem to have their shit together, in every way the above don't. There's no coincidence there. Some think critically, some don't really think. Some go by the opinions of others, so many fewer have their own opinions. And because of this, not every perspective is valid.

He was 21-22 playing consistently for the first time in his career in a team as huge as Juve. You cannot ignore this. There's a reason Real activated the buy back clause and it wasn't to make money later.

Of course he isn't the same kind of striker Diego is. Kun Aguero isn't either and on his prime I prefer him over Diego any day.

Now, I'm not comparing Moratita to Kun either, I am just saying a striker doesn't need to be the same to Diego's sort to be deadly.

Also I follow (and love) Moratita since his debut. He's very good and would become great anywhere.

This still in the cards?-

My feeling is that Morata is still our no.1 target for the striker position and that we are flirting with Belotti and Aubameyang to get the price down. But I am optimistic we will get Morata in the end.

To me I feel it is a trick to get Belloti at low price from torino so that they can give us Bolleti at our asking price

This are the stats you need to know. Big game player.

Jesus, I can't believe people keep throwing those numbers. Minutes per goal in this case is really misleading. I mean, Morata was a sub, and he usually played against weak sides. I'm sure Batshuay got some huge minutes per goal rate, specially when the stats are just arbitrary as this one (minimum 13 goal scored). So,  Batshuay must be king of minutes per goal rate* (*minimum 5 goals scored).

Morata is just not worth this kind of silly money Real is asking. This is the kind of player you get for 30m, or 40m in an inflated market, as it seems right now, but 70m for a player that was on the bench for most part of the season, and scored only 15 league goals in previous 2 Seria A seasons is something that doesn't make any kind of sense.
