Rovers have had to agree with Chelsea that di Santo WILL play

The kind of desperation that Rovers are showing, I am sure they will make him play. And I am sure the Club would mention in the contract, that he should be handed some starts. And with Sam Allerdyce's obsession with Long balls to Target Men, a 6'4 Franco D Santo is an excellent option for him.

I would love to see him play for a Premier League Club. He is only 19. There are host of clubs across Europe eyeing him. We shouldnt sell him.

If he can score even 10-12 goals for Rovers in the entire season. That would be Excellent for him.

A loan move to the premiership would be very good for Franco. At the same time though would we be able to cope with just Drogba and Anelka? If we did let Di Santo go on loan it would signal to me that we are bringing in another striker.....

Franco does need games, if he can play the majority of games at Blackburn then that would be great for him. But i would be suprised if such a move was decided upon even before pre season starts.

Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce is tipped to replace Roque Santa Cruz with Chelsea striker Franco Di Santo on a season-long loan deal.

Paraguay ace Santa Cruz underwent a medical at Man City on Monday ahead of a proposed £18M switch but Rovers appear to have a plan to sign another hitman.

Argentine Di Santo, 20, has struggled for first-team football at Stamford Bridge since arriving from Audax Italiano in 2008.

Di Santo is an Argentina Under-20 international but has made just eight appearances for the Blues - all off the bench.

Good luck Di Santo if this rumor is true.........

Would love to see Di Santo play a full season in the Premier League even if it isn't with us. Still think the lad has bundles of quality which not many Chelsea fans have seen and deem him not good enough, which i believe is not the case.

Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce says he is uncertain whether he might be able to take Chelsea's Franco Di Santo to Ewood Park during the close-season.

The Lancashire-based outfit are in the transfer market for at least one new forward this summer following the sale of Roque Santa Cruz to Blackburn Rovers for £18 million.

Rovers have been linked with 20-year-old Di Santo who moved to Stamford Bridge from Chilean club Audax Italiano in January 2008.

It is unlikely that the Blues will want to sell the Argentina under-20 international, who is regarded as a hot prospect for the future, so a season-long loan move to Rovers may be more probable.

Allardyce has confirmed that he would be interested in acquiring the 6ft 4in striker's services, but admits he does not know whether Chelsea will make him available.

"I don't know what the situation is with Di Santo so I'm not particularly clear on what's been talked about there," Allardyce told The Lancashire Telegraph.

"I would have thought [Chelsea manager Carlo] Ancelotti would be looking at all of his players first before making a decision on whether he's letting anyone go.

"But obviously we would be interested in anyone from Chelsea if they were the right price for us."

Di Santo has made 16 first-team appearances for Chelsea to date, all coming from the substitutes bench, and has so far failed to score.

I'd like for him to go to Blackburn but this might just be like Sahar last season; joining Pompey and not playing once.

Set a minimum apperance clause or a recall then clause then  ;)

Pato is 19 Messi was younger when 1st team Bojan 17 I think ...

at least wenger and even fergie are more willing to take a risk

exactly, but oh well

tbh we will never become that type of club.

Do you guys think Chelsea should offer di Santo for a loan to Hull since they couldn't sign any strikers they would like to?

They failed to get Owen, then failed to get Campbell and now they are bidding for Fulham's Zamora...!
