Just love it when fans have an opinion just based on stats without seeing the whole picture.

We were far from being very negative and looked better in possession than we did earlier in the season

I think that's pretty reasonable of ZolaYes. Some people express opinions that they decided on well before before kick-off. :)

Played better but failed to win. A draw is "ok" considering the start of the season. Performances are better, except for Cesc who has lost his mind. Thought we just missed on a few attempts that were either just barely wide or a great save by Llorris.

The effort is improved and hopefully we can finish out 2015 strong over our 5 matches in December. Are there 3 or 4 wins in there? We have only given up one goal in our last 4 all competitions and only 8 over the past 10 matches. Need to find some goals to go along with our improved back line.

Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

Im not happy. We need a bit of the Klopp philosophy. The way LFC play is incredible, Klopp has changed average players to world class players. Mourinho is tough on players, but we need the Van Gaal style tough.

Klopp and Ranieri are doing well, with average players.

I have n't seen the Spurs, neither yesterday.

Gooners, City and Utd do not impress me.

I like City's type of passing game though. But somewhere there is a fly in the ointment in that team.

Perspective.

Something a great many of you lack.

We're enduring our worst start to a season in twenty years, and you expect us to go away to a club on their record unbeaten streak in the Premier League and win, when we'd only won 40% of our matches prior to that?

Two wins and a draw from three games - including two away from home - with three clean sheets, since the international break. When things are going badly, you need to rebuild, and to start from the back. No point scoring two in a game if you're conceding the same amount, or more. We've put together a decent little defensive run now, and that is the foundation to further success. Beat Bournemouth and Porto in consecutive home games and all of a sudden we have some real momentum.

Spurs kicked our arse when we were flying with a bang average team last season??? So where's the perspective in that? ;)

I get your need to defend our display - but calling for perspective is a little over the top IMHO.

And saying no point in scoring two when you will concede. When (against any decent opposition) have we ever looked like scoring 2 goals? I would say Southampton last season. That's the really worrying thing for me - we couldn't score in a brothel right now...

So there's no need for perspective, the results don't lie - we are a team that can now defend better, but still cannot string a few passes together and look like scoring. Nothing has changed from *any* perspective :(

I think we need to take the situation into perspective. I think you may have misread my point: I am saying we should be content with a point. Right now, would we be disappointed with a point at Anfield, the Emirates, Old Trafford or the Etihad? I don't think so, going by our performances. And right now, you have to put Spurs up there with those teams. They are bang in form and could turn any side over right now, IMO.

We need to build from the back. There is literally nothing in football that breeds more confidence than a clean sheet. It encourages the forwards who know the defence behind them is playing well. Things will click into place soon. This is the start of a season-changing run for us, and we'll need to look on this as a good point won, rather than two dropped.

We're going through a rough patch right now and you must be nuts to think this was not a decent result. I thought Mourinho prepared the game very well - I've watched Spurs many times this season and there were times when they looked spectacular, especially away at Arsenal, but yesterday they looked clueless. Chelsea gave them no chances, Zouma and Gazza had Kane in their pockets and the entire team looked very solid. If you would have asked me about this game a couple of weeks ago, I would have said there's no way we leave WHL w/o at least 2 goals conceded, but yesterday proved anyone that we're back on track. I know we still lack something in the final 3rd, but before the attackers start clicking once again, we must adress that leaky defence and things look good atm.

And more of the false9 please, enjoyed the pressing high up the pitch and the movement in the final 3rd. Hazard, Willian, Pedro, Cesc, Oscar, they are all technically gifted players, they must play together from now on.

A point is far from ideal given our position in the league table, but I'll take it nonetheless; Tottenham are in excellent form (having completely outplayed better teams than us this season), and were playing at home.

I though our back five (including goalkeeper) were superb, with Ivanovic (!), Zouma, and Cahill performing to such a high standard that Azpilicueta actually looked our 'worst' defender on the day. Despite our attacking play being very sporadic and somewhat limited, I was satisfied with the performances of all four of our attacking players; Hazard showed more fire and determination than he has done in the majority of games this season and was unlucky not to score, Oscar and Pedro (in particular) put in good all-round performances with some real attacking threat, whilst Willian was an absolute beast when we were out of possession (he must have made around 6-7 tackles, and prevented Tottenham from isolating Ivanovic 1-on-1).

The only players I had issues with in this game were Fabregas and Matic; the former was simply too sloppy in possession and was unable to cope with Tottenham's pressing, whilst the latter kept leaving us exposed by moving too far up the pitch to attempt tackles and interceptions. With better/more controlled performances from these two, I believe that we could have been considerably more dominant and snatched all three points.
