a second striker is not supposed to play 700minutes in 38 games. remy is good as a rotation option for a ST or a RW, and even cup games. but i wont trust him as our sole no.2 considering we will be playing 60 games this season and costa will play 35-40 (missing others cos of injuries and suspensions). enter FALCAO.

Well that is the main issue, though, isn't it. You don't trust Remy as a second striker while I, and it seems a lot of people on here, disagree and think he is a perfect backup.

Now, I really can't understand how you would trust Falcao and not Remy. Remy was perfect for us last season. His attitude was top and on the pitch he delivered every time he was called upon and came up with pretty crucial goals for us. You may believe that Falcao can return to his best but even you have to admit that is a risk and there is a possibility he won't. So how you could trust Falcao and not Remy I honestly don't get.

I wonder who you think was a better backup striker than Remy in England last season?

As for Remy only plying 700 minutes, there are various reasons for that including injuries and this being Drogba's last season and such. Even Jose himself has admitted that he was unfair towards Remy who deserved a lot more playing time......after all if our manager thinks so, you can't argue against him, can you?! :P:D

Absolutely spot on!!

It all goes down to the phrase of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" ... if Remy is doing the business on the pitch, even as a second choice, and the attitude fits that, why change it? Why try to fork out more money on a bigger ego, when the latter is doing the job perfectly.

Steve posted earlier that Falcao is someone he would have loved to sign some few years ago, and that's fine, but what guys like Didierforever fail to understand, is that this is a financial risk .. dare I say it again, Financial Fair Play needs to be addressed when moves like this at our club happen. £130,000 is a lot of money to be losing every week for a 2nd choice despite the big wage cut.

On the other hand, you have Remy doing a sterling job and not costing us as much, so why make things harder for ourselves financially when there is no need.

@didierforever, man, what age are you? I'm not joking here, because you often debate like a 12 year old. You bring up nonsensical statements and debate common sense - that is why I often do not respond to you. Like 'Remy is nowhere near Falcao'...Jesus, they had the exact same role last season and the difference was night and day, to even say what you said with a straight face is laughable considering the evidence.

The reason why I will be angry to lose Remy and bring Falcao in as seocnd striker is because of the different style of play the two offers. Remy's pace, movement, ability to run the channels is always effective and useful to have as a game changer however Falcao is not fast and he seems the type of player to me that needs regular starts to get into form. However I don't see him as a gamechanger because of those aforementioned reasons. He was never fast and he obviously has lost some of his pace and movement that he had before. I just hope we do everything to make Remy stay because he is a real valuable player of the squad who proved his worth last season. Just imagine had he not got injured on the day against QPR. He would have added much more goals to his name.

our manager says that he will do a lot of things, like not selling luiz and mata, or playing RLC or playing remy. in the end, i go with what he DOES. and what he has done it is got another striker.

so what you are saying is you dont want a 3rd striker? or would you be fine with costa, remy and bamford? one of the various reasons is "injuries" and by your linear extrapolation, whats going to change that your improve that next season.

i can trust falcao better cos i have watched him play and seen him even rip our defence a new asshole. how dominating he was for ATM. also, by watching both falcao and torres, i can say that the similarities end at the injuries. there playing style is different, their attitude is different, their situations are totally different. while one striker had to carry all the burden on his shoulder, the other has costa and remy to share the workload and getting the pressure off him. as is their situation concering the price tag and the expectations. while torres was supposed to be the second coming of jesus, falcao is suddenly so bad that even a loan spell which makes perfect sense from all views is supposedly going to make us "leeds united" or that he is as shit as "peter crouch".

ps - DD's last season had nothing to do with this. or are u talking about the 30minutes that DD got against sunderland?

How was that a joke? You sounded serious.

You putting today's Falcao on a better level than Remy is downright stupid. Remy, the super sub that scored VITAL goals for us to win the title last season and you are slagging him off, saying today's Falcao would do better. What planet are you on. ATM Falcao is gone and I don't see it coming back. I would like to be proven wrong but he is 29 so the chances of that are slim.

Remy going will be a disaster for the club if we bring in £175 grand a week Falcao who is more likely to struggle getting his feet off the ground.

He will be sitting on the bench for most periods since Costa is our main man. How is he going to get his ATM form back if he keeps sitting on the bench?

Take off those fanboy glasses.

"so falcao's already helping the club? i am fine with that.

and since we are using awesome theories, i think by december falcao will reach his ATM form, kick ass and score 20+ goals, shitting on all the haters."

what part of awesome theories did not you understand.

so the same old same old shit sprouted again? not worth it.

What exactly is the point of that statement then? It's pretty nonsensical. What were you trying to get at?

the point is that if we dont buy a 3rd striker, remy gets to start 20-25 games of a 60 game season. 700 minutes for 7 goals is an awesome return which CAN NOT be extrapolated in the simialr way when talking about 2000 minutes that remy would definitely get if we had no other option.

also, i would like to know who people think should be our 3rd striker? a youth player?bamford/solanke? so they are better than falcoa now?

oh @didierforever, I've agreed with alot if things on my time at talk chelsea but not with falcao...

see, i dont see the problem with this transfer.

even if falcao fails, its just an year. he is not blocking the path to either bamford/solanke in the near future. he does give us the depth required. plus i feel, he will get his form back.

hear hear, I'm happy with the transfer Falcao will be brilliant under Mourinho and us the blues. And LVG at Man Utd is so awful and that's why they are poor he puts players down, Mourinho doesn't he tries to get the best out of you and he will show who's the best manager here.
