True, and that is how often we should pay 50m for one player.

Yesterday EUFA banned Malaga from all European competitions for breaking FFP rules, so paying 50m might keeps us out of Europe as well.

For not paying player wages in time, and tax bills to be exact.

TBF, I don't think the club would be an idiot to spend that much if they know it's going to cost us a place in Europe.

Why doesn't he suit our style? We need someone who stretches the play by playing on the last man. We need a guy who can run the channels and finish chances. That is Falcao. He also seems available and willing to come, as well as being particularly admired by the guy who our owner wants as our manager in six months time.

That is ability, not style of play, which I don't doubt Falcao has plenty of. Falcao's playing style, however, is either using his pace on counter attacks or his movement in the box while the system we use that Drogba played and even Torres had to change his game to adjust to requires the striker to win first headers and hold play up or drop off or move to the wings to create space for the midfielders to run into. This is very different than what Radamel did Porto and is doing at Madrid.

Yes, that's why I've been saying for some time now that all the Falcao rumors are just media bullshit because we can't afford to buy him. Please don't let me repeat why.

'The system we use that Drogba played'.

Utter bollocks.

The system that we use and the one that Drogba played in are two different things. We're moving away from the one that Drogba played in and moving to one more based on possession and movement, a la Barca.

And once again I'll point out that you don't have a fucking clue what we can and can't spend because you don't have a fucking clue about our income, sponsorship deals or the cuts to playing staff over the next 6 months.

As much as the price that is being quoted for Falcao is ridiculous especially the 50-60m ones, how do you know we can't afford him or even spend that much?!

Im sorry but I've got all of my belief in the businessmen that run Chelsea.. Im sure they know a tad more about bookkeeping and bending the FFP rules than you, us in general.. I hate to read comments about we not being able to afford this or that when we actually dont know the complete financial background of our beloved club... Don't make yourself look important by splashing out facts you can't back up 100%..

I do wish best for the club and if we do buy Falcao - great, we've got a true goalscorer and a poacher.. if not then we will address the situation in the future sooner rather than later.

Read this. Its pretty good... http://www.weaintgot...-radamel-falcao

A few logic gaps:

1) The transfer fee does not have to be uniformly divided on the length of his contract neither do we have to give him 5.5 years. But let's over look this point because both could be possible.

2) Josh and PVA are not adequate replacements for Lamps and Cole, at least not at the moment.

3) Our squad is very thin and we need reinforcement not just at ST but in several other areas.

4) Our expenses this year have been far more than last year. This year we bought the likes of Moses, Oscar, Hazard, Marin and Azpi who cost a whole lot more than last season's signings who, apart from Mata who cost 23m IIRC, were relatively cheap deals.

5) Last and most important, we got 47m for winning the CL last season but we'll only get 3.9m for making the group stages this season. And even if we win the EL we will only get 3m. That is 40m less than we made last season! There is no way that the deals we made can cover the this deficit, we'd be lucky to even be getting 15-20m a year from those deals. That is still a 20-25m less than our income last season unlike the article that assumed that we would have about the same income. Sorry boys, but this is written in hope rather than logic.

Not True. Torres has been playing exactly Drogba's role this season. All goal kicks and long balls are aimed at him to win first headers, he is constantly moving to the wings and dropping off for Hazard and Mata to make runs behind him.

Just because your source is a good read and has numbers in his article does not mean he is correct.. don't trust every article blindly mate.. I get you're a bit sceptical and so am I, I dont want bad for Chelsea, but I'd hate to miss out on great players. FFP is all about bookkeeping and a club like Chelsea will get unexpected sponsors whenever we might fall a bit short.. it's all business..

Not True. What about the goal kicks and long balls that have been punted towards Ivanovic, who gets told to push forward on the right flank? What about the balls played out to either one of the centre-backs or Mikel (which is again, very reminiscent of Barcelona). Yes we've moved to more longer balls in recent weeks but we're talking about beyond just this season.

And can you please tell us how much the Gazprom deal is worth?

I'm not saying they don't nor stating as a fact that we can't afford him, it's a just an opinion that I formed based on some estimates that I made some pages ago and just quoted above.

 Can we stop with all the 'we can afford him' / 'we can't afford him' arguments? None of us are clued up on the club's financial income. We'll know if we can afford him if we actually bid for him/sign him. The board are fully aware of the FFP rulings - they're not total idiots.

Just enjoy the speculation...

As a general thing, I don't know why we as fans always start talking about the clubs finances when it comes to transfers. None of us know what the club can afford to spend as details of sponsorship deals etc aren't clear. There's also the issue of contracts and who'll be leaving etc. I'll tell you one thing though, I can guarantee that the club won't EVER sign a player if we can't afford it and will mean we can't play in europe.

I've watched the vast majority of Radamel's matches at Madrid (mainly to watch Thibaut) and I don't remember any goal where he cut out the ball and went on to score. give me some examples and i will go watch the goals, although statistics seem to back my claim because he only has 0.1 interceptions per game this season.

What does Falcao being a poacher have anything to do with whether or not he is a "phenomenon"? It's not an insult if someone is a poacher. Falcao is the best poacher striker in the world right now and that is saying something.

I thought you meant cut and shoot. how many times any striker stealing the ball and score? thats wierd to even say he doesnt do it, because its just not something that happens alot and something you should judge in a striker.

Again, he is not just a poacher. When you give him the ball in the box he's finding his ways to shoot and score. imo his abilities to do it are better than Zlatan, Cavani and RVP. And its not called a poacher.

I hate it when people say he creates his own chances. It's such a nonsensical and weird phrase. Nobody creates their own chances, outside of incredible Maradona or Messi dribbles, and I don't think Falcao is capable of that. What does Falcao do exactly? Run out to the right byline cross the ball and run into the six yard box so he can head it in? Us that how he creates for himself?

It seems we have different ideas what a poacher is. Any way, Falcao is a better finisher than the strikers you mentioned, but that is all. All of them have much better link-up play and technical ability in terms of passing and crossing and all create space better than Radamel.
