Radamel Falcao

You do realize when I say stuff in a discussion about a debatable issue where the opinions are divided (i.e. there are no absolute facts), it makes them my opinion. It's like when I say for example "Sturridge is better than Torres", I would not be claiming that is a fact but merely stating my opinion. It is the same as saying "I think Sturridge is better than Torres" but the "I think" part is omitted to show my confidence in my opinion but it is still an unproven opinion.

It's just my opinion but I would rather have Cavani, Ibra or Van Persie in my team over Radamel. But this is neither the place nor the time for this debate.

not bad... I like the fact that Falcao has done it in two leagues, Cavani and Van P haven't.

How much would they all cost though... RVP cost half of what falcao would cost, but he is 2 and a half years older and would have cost a lot more if we bought him as arsenal would not have let us have him for as cheap... Cavani, we would be lucky to get him for less than 45 mil. Ibra, exactly the same, so there is no way any of them would be any cheaper than falcao, and there is no debating they are all quality strikers. I would have falcao over all them 3 but its not like i wouldn't have cavani or be excited if we were being linked to him.

I was talking purely on ability and not price, but I don't want to go off topic here.

Match winner is the most glaring of all and truly there aren't that many out there that are available. Goals win games not Modric.... Look at Utd, they had Rooney, Chica, Welbeck, Berba and they still ignored their concerns in the midfield and grabbed one of the worlds best strikers.

Exactly, the reason we never claw back deficits is because of this.

People go on bout Fergie time but why is that? Because when their losing he sticks 3 sometimes 4 forwards on the pitch which instinctively makes the opponents shit themself.

its like you didnt read my post at all (and dont know enough about football). They wont merk Bilbao (of last season, Bilbao are pretty poor now). United havent improve anything but improve their attack force, so Bilbao would still play the better football and control the game.

"Regardless, you can look at any formidable team in Europe and I guarantee you will find holes. What you won't find is a lack of finishers"

maybe, but there are teams with much less "holes" than united. They shouldnt be an example, absolutely not.

Bilbao last year would get destroyed by Utd this year, no question about it... Too many goal scoring options to have to deal with. My opinion.

Regardless you look at every top side they have a formidable striker, who is ours?

100% agree! no more young wonderkids we need players in their prime, they don't come cheap though

This is part reason why lampy and cole should be offered new contracts. Cole is just 32 and still has a few years in him, with priceless experience, and we all know what lamps can give us and is still fit. I would give cole a 2 year deal, then a recurring 1 year deal based on performance and give lampy a 1 year recurring contract like scholes and giggs. Talent and youth is all well and good but we need a bit of experience and chelsea legends, even if it is for more motivational and team based reasons than them being pure quality (which lampy will always be). :)

another point to add to that. fergie stations young/evra on the left and valencia/rafael on the right. all 4 (rafael - borderline) are brilliant crossers of the ball. united create late pressure by spreading the play wide and putting it into the box where one of the strikers stick it away.

even we resort to long balls and set-piece pressure late on in a desperate attempt to put the ball in but we have next to nothing in terms of aerial power or presence upfront.

There is a question about it. United are struggling against shity teams in PL this season, they would struggle against Bilbao of last season who can easily hart their weaknesses. You dont have any proof they would destory them because United arent good against this kind of football, i have proofs.

I never said we have a good striker, what do you want....

Those types don't get sold. That's why we this is a rare opportunity.

Van P went for half as much as Falcao but he's 2.5 yrs older. Ibra is in his 30's that's the difference right there.

Cavani was sold to Napoli for around 15m pounds. Falcao was sold to Atletico for 40m euros. Aguero was sold to Man city for 35m pounds.

This is how it normally is. All the top teams bought their strikers from somewhere, but the fees are always around 35m or lower.

Not many... But the better question is how many formidable strikers would we get for much less than 50 mil and the answer is exactly the same... Not many.

Depends on what you call formidable, it doesn't have to be a massive name, but they're many players out there with a reputation of scoring loads of goals, and will probably do the same in the PL. And won't cost 50m.
