Benteke was absolutely abysmal first half the season. There's no proving he wouldn't replicate that poor form here.

I'd be very happy if the Falcao deal is a loan. Costa, Remy. Falcao as our front three options is pretty mouth watering.

You do realize Benteke tore his Achillies heel in April... Might of had something to do with his poor start this year.

I don't think shirt sales work that way tbh. If someone buys a Falcao shirt then they probably wouldn't buy a Hazard shirt for example.

And the Chelsea fans in Colombia already bought jersey#23...

And I'm really doubting this move. Wasn't he named in the Copa America squad? If so, wouldn't that mean he has effectively no preseason with us?

It does make a little difference. We will gain some "Falcao fans" and some Colombian fans. They will probably buy his shirt as "new buyers".

Wouldn't it be largely negligible though? A couple weeks of wages and all that goes down the drain. I'm not too sure about exact numbers and I believe someone else is much more capable of crunching the maths. If we truly wanted just a commercial signing then someone like Salah or an Asian player like Ki/Muto would be much more beneficial since those markets have very few players at top clubs and and we can get large attention focused on just 1 player. Not to mention they would cost far less.

Like what stroey said, yes, my point is that a new potential buyers worldwide. Falcao has 4m followers on his twitter. All of this reminds me of a rumoured news that Torres marketing sales has been brought back the money we spent on him, lol.

Anyway, obviously I never meant to say that this Falcao signing is marketing signing. Just want to pointed out how big his marketing value nowadays as a 'bonus' of this signing.

-Wages are under 200k

-Transfer fee no more than 25m.

Anything above that is a waste.

- he actually scores goals. maybe 15? If he ends up with 4 again then its a bad move no matter how much was paid.

Haha yes that too,I have a feeling he will succeed here,he's really desperate now and it's not confirmed as of yet whether it will be a permanent transfer or a loan though.
