It's only February but by now you kind of have an idea of who the nominees are gonna be and who might take the prize home.

My nominees: Agüero, Alexis, Costa, Fàbregas, Hazard, Kane

Previous Winners: http://www.thepfa.com/thepfa/pfaawards/winners

Also, what's been the best performance of the season so far? Plenty to choose from.

Hazard vs Spurs (A) has probably been the best we've seen from our players. But Harry Kane did dominate us. Agüero's 4 goals against Spurs?

Fun fact: The last two winners of the trophy have left the Premier League.

Sanchez for me, he's single-handedly dragged them through their injuries and non-availabilities whereas Hazard, Cesc, Costa, Silva, Aguero etc all while being great players having great seasons also have the luxury of playing in far better teams with far better team mates around them.

Kane for Young POTY.

Sanchez has been phenomenal this season, his overall play is almost on Hazard's level but he takes the edge for producing more at the final third for me. I think no other player is having as big a impact for his team as Alexis. But I could see any of Hazard or Cesc overtaking Sanchez depending on how they perform until the end of the season.

LOL. and Sanchez is on course of being part of the first Arsenal team to not qualify for the Champions League! and he goes missing in big games!

It's bizarre that you're being so dismissive because without Sanchez they'd be mid-table and not even within sniffing distance of top 4. He's the most well-rounded attacker in the league with direct involvement in 19 goals (12 goals + 7 assists), not far off behind Costa (19; 17 + 2) or Aguero (20; 16+4) and in fact ahead of Cesc (17; 2+15), Hazard (14; 9 + 5) and Silva (9; 7+2) ... all this in a team that's been missing Giroud, Walcott and Ozil for most of the season thus far.

its bizarre that you actually believe Arsenal would mid table without Sanchez! dont be ridiculous, they would obviously still be where they are now, if they never had Sanchez someone else would step up, and if your talking stats, what are Sanchez's stats against the top teams? and you do realize playing with a group of players who dont get many goals or assists its easier to have better stats, if Hazard was in that Arsenal team instead of Sanchez he would be the same, but Hazard still has very good numbers in a team where Costa, Fabregas and Oscar all get their fair share of goals and assists.

Look at Hazard last season he carried Chelsea in attack and performed in big games unlike Sanchez. Its bizarre that you think someone who performs against the smaller teams and goes missing in big games can be POTY, when in reality Arsenal always do well against the smaller teams with or without Sanchez, so to say he has carried them is pretty ridiculous.

One of the biggest myths of the season that Sanchez has carried Arsenal. He only plays well against the smaller teams who Arsenal always do well against anyway! don't be fooled.

So let me get this straight - one the one hand you say anyone could've "stepped up" and gotten the numbers Sanchez has and on the other you say it's easier for him as he's in a team where nobody else is capable of getting those numbers? Flawless logic.

I admit he hasn't stood out consistently in these so-called big games you're all hung up about (although I can remember a beautiful goal vs City and another couple of good performances vs City away and United, I think) but that's natural because Arsenal are normally the worse side as a whole when compared to these opponents and that difference manifests itself. Besides, everyone on this list will underperform in some of these games - Aguero was nothing special in 180 mins against us, Hazard didn't travel well against United or Liverpool and the Fabregas thread is full of complaints about his fading away against the big boys. Again, you have your opinion but the general consensus in some of the other threads is that he's the one missing link in our attack and we should have snapped him up last summer or the one earlier.

Every game is important to win the league, if beating the big ones was all that mattered we would have won the league last season. Regardless of that, from the top of my head I remember he has at least one good game against the bigs in Manchester City, I think he even scored that game. He's also on fire in the champions league and his stats in this season are not too far from Hazard's (same amount of key passes per game, a very respectable number of successful dribbles per game - probably one of the best in Europe after the likes of Hazard, Robben and Messi, almost as fouled every game as Hazard), while at the same time having a better work rate, he averages 2 tackles and 1 interception per game in the PL, he runs all day long and never tires, he's like a mix between Willian and Hazard plus the killer instinct that both seem to lack, very underrated player tbh. Hazard has better passing, dribble and ball control over him, even then it's not by a landslide. It's impossible to consider Eden one of the best performers and not Alexis.
