Nike 373
My buddy and I were having an argument about professional female athletes...DO you guys think that professional females can beat high school-college level men's team? For sports such as football, basketball, baseball, etc? For example, in basketball, I think a wnba's olympic team would lose to good high school men's team. iseah100 5,612
No, the women olympic USA team would beat a mens basketball team. Just like USA's soccer team would beat a good highschool team. Baseball women would lose, ALWAYS.

Just like USA's soccer team would beat a good highschool team. Baseball women would lose, ALWAYS.Phil Jackson“When Jackson ran a youth basketball camp in Montana early in his coaching career, he recalls pitting a state champion high school girls team against a group of middle-school boys who had never played together. The outcome of the game was so one-sided in favor of the boys that it has stuck in Jackson’s mind ever since. ‘(The girls) were all four to six inches bigger than these boys, and they got beat by 40 points,’ Jackson said. ‘It was one of those things that opened my eyes to the differences. Even though the girls had skill and knowledge as a group and the boys hadn’t played together, they just trapped and pressed and did all kinds of things that changed the game The USA's women's squad routinely scrimmages hs boys soccer and frequently loses..... I read that the German womens national team scrimmages u15 boys and loses signficantly more often than not.
Bir_CFC 3,455
Any sport that involves considerable physical athleticism would automatically be favourable to men. It's no slight on women, it's just a genetic difference.

Even high school pitchers throw in the 70s and 80s and the fastest fastball by a woman ever recorded is about 65MPH which is incredibly hittable. Against an elite high school team then it would be different as the boys would likely win in every sport.

CHOULO19 24,332
I think in Basketball there is no chance, especially if we're talking full court 5on5. Physically, they just won't be able to do anything on the inside game.
Nike 373
I think for basketball, the sheer lateral speed men have over women is a huge difference. Girls can shoot and dribble, but can they shoot over tall kids coming at them and dribble over athletic lanky kids..... Also, another huge difference is the ball. The women's ball is lighter and smaller, than the mens... I can shoot 3s with one hand with a womens ball.... So, I think most hs basketball states like NY, California, Texas, Illinois, Indiana, Florida, etc hs kids would wipe the floor off the girls. I know for top college teams like Conn, Tenn, etc, they pickup male practice players=ymca/intramural guys and get whipped by them on a daily basis, with a no dunk/layup rule, playing above the rim, etc... Spike 12,049
Physically men have women beat. It's just physiology. However I fully believe a woman's technique can rival a man's.

Well, it depends on the sports. Basketball, no...it relies far too much on height and speed. Women's softball and baseball could possible rival men's. As well as cricket. You also have to appreciate that High School/College level sports is a phenomenon almost exclusively limited to the United States. Sports operate very differently is other countries.

Nike 373
Have you watched women's softaball? They fucking kill it.The ball is bigger in softball. Can you imagine these hs kids getting cracks at them...In softball, the fastest pitch was clock in at 68mph, in hs baseball, the average pitcher throws his fastballs at 72mph...Baseball is a less physical sport than both american football and basketball, but still a sport that requires a high level of physical attributes... The fastest bowls/pitches shouldn't have anything to do with the argument because they are outliers to the norm. The average shouldn't be noted either, because a few very fast pitches can bump the average up significantly just like a few slow pitches can lower it. The mode should be discussed.Aside from that the fastest bowl in cricket was 161.3 kmph or 100.227mph.

The point is that the fastest softball pitch is at 68mph whileas a hs kids average fastball is 72mph. the ball is bigger... You get a power slugger playing softball and he will hit 200 homeruns, whereas rbi kings would get a hit half the time. The length/power of a man's range in their swing, their strides in terms of running and their vertical ability in terms of fielding would be to much for girls. It's like tennis, serena and venus got completely floored by the ap #200 male even though they had good technique.. (6-1, 6-2) they might be able to backhand, serve, etc, but the power of their swings was incomparable to the german guy. In baseball, the same would apply.
