The problem is not buying another player but getting rid of Torres. No one will ever be so dumb to pay his wages +Torres won't be so dumb to accept a significant cut. I also wonder how on earth we could be so naive to give him a 5,5 year deal. He will be on 175k pw when he is fuckin 32. Wouldn't a 3,5 year deal have sufficed? We could have easily prolonged it with these wagesn if he had been a hit.

On the other hand, we could still just buy wickham or rodirguez as a 3rd striker. But honestly, how much better would they do Torres? Torres has 10 turnovers per game, 2 or 3 decent dribbles, an incredible miss and a goal every few months. But you know Torres will not completely lose it in a CL game. Would you really trust wickham or Rodriguez vs BAyern or Real madrid in the cl?

I have a high hope with Bamford for next season as 3rd choice striker. Our non HG quota has freed up by 2 with Salah, Schurrle and Mark going (1 filled immediately by Cuadrado). With Bamford in, Drogba as a coach, free up one more space. Cech, if leaves, will be filled with another non HG GK, so I'm not counted in.

We can afford to sign up to 3 non HG quota player which will be massive. Player like Romeu/Van Ginkel/Kalas/Omeruo/Thorgan, could easily fill in. Our HG quota which should be filled also safe because we still probably have Terry, Cahill, Baker, Blackman, Bamford, Fabregas, Beeney, RLC.

you can register as many homegrown players you want, as long as the squad of over-21 players does not exceed 25 members. blackman, ola and rlc count as under 21. under 21 players an be registered infinitely no matter if homegrown or not. there is a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players you can register.

Yes and you listed Kenedy, who, as under 21 players can be added indefinitely, shouldn't count. So 15, 16 when Kenedy is two years older.

As Kenedy is 19 born in feb and he is registered this side of the prem year. This in theory means if he turns out to not be loaned out he will be seen as home grown as, he will have played 3 seasons in total. 2 seasons for us when he turns 21 during the 2nd year. however as he is 21 in Feb and the rules state as long as the player is still 21 when his registered for that prem year ie August and completed the 3rd year at the club, then he will be seen as homegrown at the end of the 3rd year. right? if so he is going nowhere for sure. Specially when you see how much HG goes for now!!!!

I can see them changing the rules so it`s 8 nationals of the country they play in. but that`s in the future and I think we could be ok there in a few years time but as things stand despite it not looking obvious we are fine with the quota.
