Does anyone know if we were ever seriously interested in him at Lens before joining Madrid. Because it would be criminal not to have atleast shown genuine interest considering the level of promise he showed.

not true. 3rd loan. he would have played (and i use that word lightly) here for a year. performed brilliantly against the likes of suarez, aguero, sterling, eriksen, fellaini and then sent out on loan to koln/borough or relegated to 4th CB position cos we want another young talent.
