Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o has told the Spanish media that he could return to play for his former club Real Mallorca when his contract expires this summer.

Fresh from his hat-trick winning performance against Manchester United on Sunday, Eto’o revealed he has been encouraged by his son to end his career back in Spain.

“My son has pressured me to finish (my career) there. My son is from Mallorca,” Eto’o said to radio station Cadena Cope.

“I'll always like Barca, but I prefer Mallorca.”

Having begun his career in the Real Madrid’s youth academy back in 1997, the Cameroon international spent 12 years in Spain before moving abroad and has long missed the country that saw him won 9 major trophies.

“I miss everything from there.”

“I miss my team-mates, my friends, Barcelona, the weather, the ham, everything…”

It remains to be seen if the 32-year old will stay at Chelsea beyond this summer having joined the Blues on a one year deal last August but he is keen to make the most of his time here and enjoy more success.

“At the moment, it's one season and I intend to enjoy it, then we'll see.”
