True_Blue 469
Nigeria can still go thru if the win by 2-0 and if Mali losses to Ivory Coast with not scoring a goal.I belive it won't happen.
BlueLion. 21,491
Essien has been nothing short of excellent today. Scored one and created the other for Ghana.
PaulHopkins 1
Essien has been nothing short of excellent today. Scored one and created the other for Ghana. I totally agree! I hope he can continue this sort of form when he comes back to Chelsea. He was one of the best players on the pitch today for sure!
Fulham Broadway 17,313
Ivory Coast winning 1-0 atm, however should Mali make a comeback, and Nigeria go out, Chelsea FC have a private jet on standby to bring Obi back. The good news is that his suspension should have expired (3 games ) now.
BlueLion. 21,491
We are in desperate need of midfielders and getting Mikel back soon would be fantastic.
Fulham Broadway 17,313
Though theres probably a special FA rule that says Mikel wont be able to play till he waits another three games.

Ollie 4,400
well its good to see Drogs get another goal with another quality finish, ive got a feeling Nigeria will go through tho. Nigeria are playing against the weakest team in the group and even tho they haven't scored in the tournament yet, i can see them getting a couple eventually. i can also see ivory coast winning by more than 1 vs mali because they are very dominant so far. Plenty of time to go.
We Hate Scouse 10,326
Nigeria havn't had a shot on target in the past 35 minutes!!!!!
PaulHopkins 1
Ivory Coast now 2-0 - Drogba got 1 Nigeria now 1-0 - Mikel scored Nice to see our boys on form As things stand both Ivory Coast and Nigeria go through.
Ollie 4,400
yeah mikel header with an open goal and that 2nd ivory coast goal had really changed things. just over half an hour left, things will probably get worse for mali now i think. I see Ivory coast and Nigeria getting more.

BlueLion. 21,491
Mikel you twat, I wanted you back! Oh well, its Ghana vs Nigeria in the next round, meaning we get either Mikel or Essien back. I want Nigeria to win
Blue_Swede 4
Of course it's nice to see our players doing well, but as you say, it would really help if we could get some of the back, especially for the upcoming match against Liverpool. I think we can do Reading and Pompey (their form ain't the best) without them but Liverpool will be a hare one.
BlueLion. 21,491
Ghana 2 - 1 Nigeria FT What an unbelievable game, that is arguably one of the most passionate affairs I have ever seen. Quality football from start to finish, the atmosphere was incredible and both teams were excellent. Essien wore his heart on his sleeve, scored the equaliser, took up the captain's armband and after Agogo scored, collapsed to the ground in delight. A Ghanaian hero, he may just have booked them a place in the final.
Badboy 1,526
That was a great game i am happy we got obi back before essien because its essiens home country. This will be the only time it will be in ghana in his generation mikel is 21 he will get his chance. Now we have obi back he will play the anchor role ballack and lampard can cause damage. James 5,322
Doesnt look like Drogba or Kalou will be back just yet, Ivory Coast are currently 5-0 up vs Guinee

Ollie 4,400
I'm really hoping Ivory Coast win the tornament, they were absolutely brilliant in that last 30 mins and they have not won it for ages (16 years) and they came so close last time when they lost on pens in the final to Egypt. For Chelsea i guess i'd like to see Drogs back but i would rather see ivory coast win the cup of nations. What a team. They always wanna score, when they get towards goal, they have 2 or 3 players waiting to tap it in. Awesome fitness, awesome strength, awesome commitment, awesome team.
